Ellipsoid Table
This table is deceptively complex to build, requiring 4 different bending forms and some complex joinery
The Ellipsoid Table was created with the idea of taking a traditionally-designed piece and breaking it down into its basic geometry through a series of intersecting, regular geometric forms, including cylinders, planes, cones, and, yes, an ellipsoid. The piece was constructed of walnut, maple, bubinga veneer, ebony, oak, and brass.

The tabletop is composed of two, large bookmatched waterfall bubinga veneers with ebony and maple line inlay.

The design included full-extension drawers in both ends with hand-built slides and pulls.

This corner detail shows the line inlay as well as the small, inlaid checkerboard inlays at the intersections.
