100 Trees: A Display of Wood Veneers
When I adopted woodworking as a hobby 25 years ago (Thanks Norm), I purchased some veneer samples to help me learn about wood. I have always thought they should be displayed so as to show people the beauty and diversity of wood. I have glued each veneer to a piece of 1/4″ plywood and mounted them on wood blocks ranging from 0.5 to 3 inches high. They are finished only with Watco Natural Danish Finishing oil and wax. The frame is oak stained black.
There are about 50 veneer samples on each of the 2 panels, with a few duplicates. I have a photograph which includes labels for all of the woods.
