Fine Woodworking 2011 Annual Collection
The Taunton Press, 2011.
$34.95; DVD-ROM
The Fine Woodworking 2011 Annual Collection includes all seven issues from 2011 in an easily searched DVD-ROM. You won’t have to hunt for your past issues to find that article you read earlier in the year. A quick search of the DVD and the article will be yours – you can print only what you need and take it to the shop so you don’t mess up your original magazine. Also included on the DVD is a bonus magazine index for all the issues: 1-223. You can search the index with the same criteria that you use to search the Annual DVD-ROM. The results will display the issue number for the magazines that contain what you are looking for, plus the page number. That’s a big help when searching for those older articles.

I would love to win this. As an added incentive for people to subscribe to the magazine, you could offer this to subscribers at a discount. Or you could offer a subscription that would include the year on a DVD, at the end of the year. I love having the magazines, but for space saving, it would be nice to keep the year's publications on a DVD.
Thanks,
Chuck Pearson
I would like to have it myself Bet regards to whoever may win :)
Fingers crossed, would be great to win this!!
Would love to have this!
Sounds like a great b-day present for me!
I'm dreaming of a Fine Woodworking Christmas, just like...
When I began woodworking in Minnesota, I would go to the library in Golden Valley and pour over their collection of old issues of Fine Woodworking. Very valuable. This DVD would serve that purpose, since our library in Texas does not have those back issues.
Sign me up, please
Maybe lucky this time?
I feel lucky, maybe this is my time to win, sign me up, thanks.

This novice would love it!
I would like to win!
This DVD would be a great addition to our local woodworkers club. Merry Christmas to all and wishing you a Joyous New Year.
What better way to kick off 2012 then kicking back and browsing Fine Woodworking on DVD! OK, maybe by being out in the shop kicking out a little sawdust...
Would definitely Love it, would be great to view on my ipad, or mac pro
Thanks
As I learn better if I can actually see how it is done along with the written instructions this DVD series would be a very valuable tool! Always enjoy seeing how other woodworkers approach a problem or situation .....Why re-invent the wheel when someone already has done so.......
me please
Just another reason FWW is the best magazine out there for woodworkers.
I can't pass this one up!
Gracious offer. Thank you.
Thanks for the offer.
OK, Everyone can stop posting comments now. No need. It's mine...
ME! ME! ME!
Fantastic, now no need to purchase the full set when all you really wants is this years update to complement the full set bought last year!!
Fine Woodworking has been my teacher, mentor and inspiration for becoming a skilled woodworker for over fifteen years.
Sure would be nice!
A nice way to kick-off the New Year.
Thanks for the offer
This will complete the hat trick and go nicely with the other two DVD archives from FW I have!
I sure would like this, but it's too rich for someone on disability. Sign me up.
SIGN ME UP I love the ideas that I get from your magazine
These giveaways have really generated some good traffic to FWW. Keep them coming!
Add me into the hat!
Wait for me.... if the hat is big enough.....
Thanks for the offer.
This would be a welcome addition to the FWW 1975-2010 Archive DVD that I purchased (at FULL price, DOH!) this past year.
Love your magazine, would love to add the DVD to my collection.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to everyone!
Fine Woodworking: a requirement for those interested in producing great woodwork. Not full of re-hashed projects proclaiming them the "Ultimate," etc.
Would love to have this!
Yes!
But, for someone retired on a low fixed income, I'm doing good to buy the Printed version!
Paying for it again is out of my budget... I'll settle for another year of Printed version.
Thank you.
This would be a great educational tool for anyone. I know from working in the trades that one method of learning is from watching a professional do their job. The tips that are learned in Fine Woodworking is the equivalant of learning from a pro.
It'd be a big help for building my skills!
I would love this for Christmas! Love the magazine! Very good instructions and great pictures.
ALL THE DVDs ARE GOING TO GET MESSY AFTER A WHILE:
KevM wrote: "Fantastic, now no need to purchase the full set when all you really wants is this years update to complement the full set bought last year!!"
It looks to me that, if you have the DVD with all issues through 2010 and buy the annual DVD for 2011, you will have to go to each separate DVD to look anything up in "the" index -- two index searches every time you want to find something in the FWW archives. Then when next year's annual comes out you will have to go to three indexes to find articles on the three DVDs -- and so on and on. Soon you will have a stack of FWW DVDs as almost as high as your stack of print FWW. Looking for an article on the CDs will be almost as complicated as it is to flip through a stack of print copies.
FWW needs to publish a comprehensive DVD every year (as they do), but sell it at the annual CD price for those who have previously bought a comprehensive DVD and all subsequent annual DVDs to that comprehensive DVD.
I don't mind paying something for the convenience of a searchable DVD, but I too do not want to pay for the same information multiple times, Accordingly, the annual cumulative updates should be sold at a much cheaper price for those who are current subscribers to the print version of FWW.
Sign me up for the FWW DVD Giveaway. Happy Holidays!
My wife would be happy if I owned this DVD. She is always picking up my paper copies of FWW that seem to distribute themselves through out the house!
Sounds great but since I read my Fine Woodworking while sitting on my ceramic throne I would have to install a computer there to read it. If I did that I could also read the emails from FW at the same time. I guess I need to start building something to hold the computer.
This would make a nice addition to the workshop. The dvd player is ready and waiting. Wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
A great way to start a new year
Great articles.
Is this my second post?
Are you feeling lucky, Punk?
Well I was born lucky, so bring it on!!
Merry Christmas from the deep warm south. I will sure be glad to get my copy of this DVD...so much to learn.
I'll take a copy to add a few zillion things to my to do list.
That would be great, thanks!
I'm waiting for Santa to bring this nice present.
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to everyone. Let's hope I win the DVD so that my wife can find new jobs for me.
Please add me to the rest. Thank you.
It sure would be nice to get a present from Fine Woodworking after all the years I have taken Fine Woodworking magazine and been a member of the internet part of F. W.
Merry Christmas everyone! I've already won it, just send it to me NOW !! (hehe)
I will take one Plz. This would be a great X-mas Present from F. W.
Hope your 2012 is as good or better than 2011 HAPPY NEW YEAR and thanks for all the great things you do
I am semi-retarded (looking forward to retirement, so I am semi-retired, & semi-working!) I was lost, now I hav com back to the flock! I have subscribed to FWW mag. & online! So, I hav sum catching up to do!
I am waiting with bated breath, & eager anticipation of the long awaited Annual DVD!
May Your blades stay sharp, & Your fingers count 10!
Work Safe!
What a great way to keep back issues clean. My shop isn't the best place for a magazine. Thanks for the quality articles and tips.
Would Be a great thing to have. Missed some of these issues, I could catch up then
Great magazine. More Greene and Greene projects please. Also more tool reviews, they're very helpful.
A happy holiday season and new year to everyone. Congratulations to who ever wins this great prize.
I have been a subscriber since issue #33--March/April 1982. I have every one of those issues, as well as all 5 "Techniques" issues to cover EVERYTHING!
I have just started building Eugene Landon's "Queen Anne Handerchief Table" (Issue #52). I much admire and wish I could have met Eugene.
I think you can tell that I really love "Finewoodworking". My one gripe is that, despite the many and valiant efforts you have made to provide good indices, I frequently have a hell of a time finding a remembered article.
If I had the prize CD, it might help!
Thank all of you, past and present contributors, for your terrific magazine.
Frank Gloeckner
Please add me to the list.
This would make my wife very happy: fewer magazines laying around the living room!
As always, a great collection to add to the library of our minds! LOL
Really though, I want to read it all and hopefully absorb at least some of the geat bits of knowledge that are contained on the DVDs.
You never know when one of the little suckers will help save, or make, a project that much better!
I'm new at all this and I have used those great videos on startwoodworking.com! I have 6 cutting boards sitting in my shop as I type this because of the videos. They are Christmas gifts I am thrilled to be giving away. Thanks for all you do and Merry Christmas!
Being unemployed and two poor to buy new stock inspires creative uses of the contents one's scrap pile.
Too poor to buy the DVD, too, of course. ;)
I would love to have this.
Add my name to the list...I would love to have this.
Thanks.
I can't wait to have Fine Wooding arrive at my door! It's the only magazine I read from cover to cover. Articles on finishing techniques have taken my work to a new level! Best wishes to the winner!
Dear All,
I'm totally agree with Frank, your magazine is terrific! I would like to have it, so pls, pick me up! Happy Xmas!
Pablo Escudero
Great magazine; would love to have the annual compilation on DVD!
Always something new and helpful.
Merry Christmas to me...I hope.
I own the compilation, but haven't been able to make myself get rid of the years of magazines that I've moved across the ocean three times!
good wood indeed
Love the magazine and projects, Just wish I had the skill set to build the projects. However I can dream, and watch and read on my computer is a lot of fun. Hope I am able to win, but with only a set being given, there are way to many trying for me to be succesful. Have a happy holidays.
I'm one of the lucky ones who still builds after having two fingers and the palm side of my thumb amputated by a sliding table table saw.
Now if I can just finish replacing the wet and rotting OSB on top of the Struct. Insul. panel roof to my shop may be this would be put to good use for neighborhood repairs and toys for the kids.
Rob I
Love the magazine. I am just learning and to win this would really help me become the woodworker I hope to be.
FW magazine and FW online are very valuable resources for woodworking hobby. Keep up the excellent work!
Lloyd Froese
I will reach the retirement age next summer. So I am looking forward to spending much more time in my shop with FWW magazines. Thanks to FWW, I am sure my WWing skill has been improved and world is expanding. Thanks. from Shiga, Japan
I have really enjoyed the e-version of Fine Woodworking this year. It would be great to have the whole years collection on DVD.Thank again
All I want for Christmas is the "Fine Woodworking 2011 Annual Collection" DVD's.
Give it to the shop teacher. We need more young people woodworking. I subscribe so I already have the 7 issues and the tools and shop! Good magazine, Thanks
I would love to have this
While I love the ability to get on the computer and find what I'm looking for quickly, there is still something that just is more relaxing and enjoyable about a cup of coffee and the printed magazine and spending time just enjoying the education you pass on in each issue. I've been doing a lot of woodworking lately...retiring from my day job and supplementing retirement with something I enjoy. But I have learned that you can print out an article and sit down with the coffee and still not have to ruin your eyes on a computer screen....and can research every issue quickly. I found I could spend an entire afternoon looking for something because I kept getting distracted by other articles that had nothing to do with what I was looking for but sure seemed interesting at the time. I broke down and ordered the whole collection so will pass on to someone else the 2011 disk if by chance I draw the black bean, but wanted to say thank you for the hours of enjoyable time spent learning to be better at something I enjoy and which I may even try making a little money at now. I think everyone at one time or another dreams of making a living doing woodworking, but unfortunately we have become a country that thrives on cheap overseas goods rather than solid American made work that will stand up to the test of time. Maybe we'll wake up before it's too late and if we do it will be partly because your magazine encourages each of us to learn and return to a tradition of doing it right...not cheap. Thanks for a wonderful magazine and for all of those of you willing to share with the rest of us a craft that will continue to grow in a world where some skills are disappearing.....with a great deal of the credit going to those who encourage, advise and assist their fellow woodworkers....there may be a little fun such as the dovetail challenge, but it is just that...good natured fun while raising the bar for someone learning who will some day be able to pass on what he has learned. And we even get some incredible furniture, boxes, picture frames, carvings, and other items that show that talent in this country is still every where you look and the joy of helping others still exists at Christmas and for some the whole year round. Thank you all for adding your "two cents worth" for folks like me to pickup and work with to try to become a better woodworker and a better person as a result.
As a returning early eighties subscriber this would be a hndy item to have.
Still the best woodworking magazine, and community, anywhere. Congratulations on another stellar year. Keep up the good work.
Please pick my entry - if I ever win any thing at a raffle, it's will be the last item on the table that no-one else wants - like bubble bath or pair of cufflinks!!
I will have my fingers crossed!
da'no if I'd use it, try me.
Merry Christmas and happy New Year all.
Great way to save space and trees!
Sounds like a great way to find what you're looking for! Please include me and best of the holidays to everyone!
Would love a chance to win this. Love your books and Mags would love to try a DVD. Count me in. Thanks
I am visually impaired; receiving the DVD would allow me to make the text larger and much easier to read than the hard copy. Thanks for the chance.
Like everyone else, I think it would be great to be chosen.
Hope everyone had a great Christmas.
Loved the Perfect Pegs in Ebony.
Thanks.
Makes a great gift
Your magazine is very excellent. It goes beyond so many woodworking magazines in that it deals with the finer art of woodworking. I enjoy it very much and gain valuable skills from its articles and projects. Thanks so much. Ike
I still have issue #1 and all my back issues! I need to start selling them off to make room!
Awesome magazine, I love the articles and I read each issue cover to cover. I recently continued my subscription for another 3 years. Definetly a worthwhile investment!
I like too have one, would be handy. Please put me in.
Thanks for the giveaway. Sign me up.
I just subscribed and will get all issues for 2012. Having all issues from 2011 would be a great bonus.
Pick me! Pick me! Pretty please!
I usually checkout the back issues of Fine Woodworking from the local library. It's disappointing to see pages carefully cut out of the magazines so that I can't enjoy the informative and interesting articles. I would love to have access to all the articles on dvd. Thanks.
Jason
Me likey!
Just recieved my first edition with my new subscription. The 2011 DVD would help me with more good information.
I recieved the complete dvd set up to 2010 for Christmas last year and have found it to be an awesome source for inspiration, even with a good collection of back issues i have often found new old articles that i have missed or forgot about. i find myself using the set when i have down time as it is always at the hand!
Count me in. I have learned TONS from this magazine!
Thanks for helping us wood workers to continue developing our skills. May everyone have a successful and healthy new year
Pick Me, Pick Me. Love the Magazine, keep up the great work.
pick me, help clean up shop. DVD would be easier to store than all the mags.
Education is priceless, but if it's free all the better. I hope to win too.
I would definitely enjoy the digital copy of the magazine. As a subscriber of FW, I think the annual DVD should be offered to subscribers at a nominal fee just to cover the costs. It should not be revenue stream for something I already paid for. I believe FW should also consider offering the subscription as either a monthly pdf or hardcopy.
Because I'm such a nice guy, pick me :)
Okay, I had to post if for no other reason than to prove that I never win anything.
Love the mag though, I have piles of back issues going back a dozen years in a corner taking up valuable shop space, one day I'll finally build that book cabinet that I've been planning - for years - to get them off of the floor...
This would be a great addition to my collection of woodworking magazines.
I've been woodworking for about 9 years now - self taught, using pretty much print magazines and internet articles. When I first started, I subscribed to Fine Woodworking. I found it to be an extremely high quality magazine, but I cancelled my subscription becuase it was so far beyond my level of skill and understanding I was just plain intimidated. About 3 years ago, I re-subscribed. I'm so glad I did. I find this to be the finest woodworking magazine on the market, with the most interesting and challenging projects. Not only do I look forward to every print issue, but I also look forward to each eLetter. Thank you for keeping the quality of your products so high. Your magazine truely epitomizes the term "Fine Woodworking".
Representing your Northern European fans you can throw my name in the hat for this great collection. Cheers!
Don't just give it to any Tom, Dick or Harry, send it to me and you can be sure as you can be sure at a distance that it is being put to good use. I work as a technician in a Design Technology department of a school in Birmingham,UK. For all their supposed intelligence the teachers are surprisingly lacking in knowledge and often refer to me to pick my brains. Very tasty Dr Lecter!
Great magazine, would love to have the dvd set! Thanks.
Hi There !
I am trying my best to be a cabinetmaker ! But a special one because my scale is 1/12 inches (for collectors).
And I really do appreciate all the tips and tricks I can get from my favorite magazine "Fine Woodworking".
I wish you all a wonderful 2012 new year !
Marie-Laure from Paris, France
PS Of course, I would be more that delighted to win your great giveaway ;-)
Have enjoyed FW for many years.I waste a lot of time trying to remember in which issue I thought there was a particular article, so having the index would be great!
For many years I have subscribed to one of the UK leading Woodworking Magazine and bought others at random.
I have also bought and subscribed to FW for many years.
This year I cancelled the UK ones as I found they had become repetitive and boring.
So I now just take FW and look forward to each copy and just wish it was a monthly magazine.
Ted (UK)
Nice collection, I could really use that to kick off my new year of woodworking.
Bonjour, J'aime beaucoup le cabinet sur la site.C'est moi qui devrais gagner le DVD. Merci beaucoup.
From Canada,Ontario,Welland.Happy New Year to all.
A new years is here: I am looking forward to putting my mind & energy into several woodworking projects this winter...yes winter...! I have made space in my garage for these concepts and need to build several cabinets & workstations to better accommodate the house furniture concepts.
The FW articles & past issues have been very inspirational this past few months...I could really enjoy and benefit from the extensive collection of FW to be more informed.
I like the many media forms that FW provides...it's very helpful as the demand changes.
I've seen closets in rich people's houses that are bigger than my workshop, but I manage and have fun while I do.
I use this site a lot for technical solutions.
Count me in I would love to add to my skills in the New Year
What a great way to start the New Year, With a new DVD, I would love to be the one to get this to add to my Library
Thanks Wayne Gilbert in VA
I definitely need it!
As a newby, I thoroughly enjoy your website and the information you provide. I would love to have the DVD
Great promotion -- I really enjoy the magazine, your videos, and tips. I would love the DVD set. Thanks for the great service you provide to all woodworkers regardless of their skill level.
As a loyal FW fan and reader since 1979, I've seen a remarkable evolution of the teaching materials that FW has produced for the benefit of woodworkers such as myself. Always look forward to the next issue of FW.
The DVD would be a welcome addition to these materials!
I always need to learn something new or,to get inspiration from Fine woodworking and the fine people who contribute there articles.
This is such a Great magazine. My daughter bought me a subscription for it Xmas.,looking forward to it!
I have only been working wood for about four years and when I started I didn't know what a Rabbet Or a Dado was. Just about everything Ive learned Ive learned here. Using the articles in the magazine and online extras Ive not only learned a great deal but I have been able to turn out some nice furniture for my wife that I would never have been able to buy her. I am in the process of putting up a book shelf in the shop so I can keep m,y articles close by for easy reference.
I sure wish I could win the turning lathe raffle, I really need a new lathe.... and my local club really needs the mini lathes.
I'd love to win anything!
This publication has some inspiring articles.
Thanks, keep up the good work.
I would like to win this!!
Have only been member for short time and the ability to read the magazine on line digitally is fantastic for someone here in Australia as the cost of the printed magazine is exorbitant for us. Would love this prize
My first issue of FWW is #167. To win an digital copy would be great.
Happy New Year to the staff at Fine Woodworking magazine. May this be the best year ever-- looking forwad to many great and informative articles in the magazine.
This New Year is said to be the end of world (according to all the hype about the Mayan calender) This year I am instead going to focus on getting out to my shop more and organizing it and removing all the clutter that so discourages me to begin something. So it will be the end of something in my life (procrastination, and fear)....but.... it will also be the beginning of something(to live a fuller more productive life and having fun discovering new courage to "build") Winning the DVD series would certainly contribute to this new found enthusiasm but not winning it will not harm my resolution.
I enjoy your Magazine and have fun out their people! Let this year be the end of the world as you knew it and the re-birthing of something new and fresh in all your lives!
=0)
Happy New Year to all at Fine Woodworking. My resolution for the new year to finish organizing my shop (started last week),so that I can complete the planned projects without spending so much time looking for things.
Happy New Year To All! Well, 2012 holds a lot of potential for my new work shop and this DVD would be awesome!
Happy new year. The best is ahead, happy wood working.
This would be a great addition to my woodworking library.
It's a great start to the New Year with a DVD collection from Fine Woodworking magazine! So much wood and.....so little time!
Sounds like a great deal of information, conveniently too. Whoops, I did it again as Brittany would say!
Being retired and on a limited income, it sure would be nice to have these DVD so I can limit my waist and make better items
here in the uk the magazine is difficult to get hold of so DVD would be great alsi are you going to put out in e reader as i wil be getting a Kobo reader soon
Every thing from Fine Woodworking is fine.
I need these, since they aren't on Netflix!
Do you see what I see- a DVD!?! Of Fine Woodworking issues from 2011.
What a way to start 2012.
That's just "Fine" with me!
I take it.
I like the fact that all of the issues are on DVD. The search/save functions could use some refinement. The pictures and drawings are all low resolution while the text is crisp and clear. What's up with that? I went to install the 2011 annual collection and the computer is spitting back an "application not found" error. Back to "contact us".
