Miter Saw Recalled
The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced the voluntary recall of the SkilSaw 10-in. compound miter saw due to a safety hazard. According to the CPSC report, the lower guard on the saw can break and make contact with the blade, resulting in what is termed “a laceration hazard.” The recall affects saws with the model number 3316, with date codes 111, 112, 201, 202, 203 or 204. You can find the information on the name plate on the motor housing.
The saws were sold at Lowe’s Home Centers from January to April of this year. All users are advised to stop using the tool immediately, and to contact the company to get a free replacement guard kit.
