Woodcrafter,
The design begins with a 2/2 piece of stock about 18 inches long. By cutting parallel diagonals the go nearly all the way through and inserting and glueing the contrasting stirps, the design is created, The proceedure myst be repeated on all four sides. Then off to the lathe. For an excellent turotial, visit Lumberjocks.com and search Celtic Knot rolling pin....or check Lew's page.
