Very nice indeed! great use of space and organization of turning tools. I like the heft of the stand and the vibration dampening of the heavy frame. Nice job.
Wow Gary, that is a nice pice of work. I was planning a stand for an old lathe I have and your stand blew me away. WELL DONE!!
Nice lathe stand, but if I put my chisels like that I would be putting holes in my hands constantly.
I just ordered a Nova DVR-XP and am going to build a stand before it arrives in a few weeks. I like your stand. Thanks for posting.
Question: Did you add sand bags for added ballast as the reviewer of this lathe suggested, if not recommended? If so, how many pounds did you find to be the minimum weight needed? How difficult is it to move if should you have to? But overall, it looks like a great design. I would place the chisels in a elevated bed-like shelf to avoid cutting myself as one reader above mentions.
