Executive Conference Table
This table was commissioned by the Business and Economics Department of Western Washington University in Bellingham, WA. Measuring 20 feet long by 5 feet wide by 30 inches tall, it had to be built in more manageable sections. The top is made up of 3/4 MDF over 3/4 Birch ply and Fir subframe. It has a solid Cherry edge surrounding a field of Lacewood and Sapele Pommelle veneer with faux Ebony (Alowood) inlay strips. The veneer pattern was designed to disguise the joints of the 4 separate sections bolted together from below. The base frame is comprised of 4 components with easily removeable snap-in panels of Cherry frames, Lacewood panels with faux Ebony accents. The table has 4 Pop-up power and computer component plug-ins with faux Ebony tops. It is finished with a 2 part conversion varnish and dark Casnauba wax.
