MilitaryRetirement Shadow Box Table
I made this table for my 1st Sergeant who retired after 29 years of military service in the USAF. Although this took a while to make, it was well worth the time and effort. It is made of red oak 1X material and oak ply finished with a few coats of minwax classic oak stain. This is a project I hope he will keep for many years to come. Please feel free to use this design if you are making a similar project. This design was modified from a picture I saw of one given to another military member.

Woody, this is really cool. I'm a retired Shirt and my wife is about to retire and I'd like to make her one of these too. Do you have written plans or did you do this from experience? I'm a novice but I really think she would like something like this.
Your Shirt must have been a great person for you to spend all that time. Good for him AND FOR YOU!
Thanks,
mbs
Woody,
