Bubinga, Maple, and Wenge Segmented Vase

Schultheiss, a retired math teacher and a member of the Long Island Wood Turners Association, learned about segmented turning by studying a Dale Nish book while recovering from hip-replacement surgery. The segmented vase is made of 2,017 pieces of bubinga, figured hard maple, and wenge. The piece is finished with tung oil.
