Record Player & Xbox stereo stand-SEATTLE, Wa
Hi people,
I built this from 1-1/8″ douglas fir drawer fronts that I salvaged out of a very old Seattle home. The goal was to make record playing convinent and house the basics (of course an x box). Thanks for looking. I do this type of work for a living and have tons of ideas. Please let me know if you need any work done in the Seattle area.

Very nice piece, I like the contrast between the salvaged fronts and the exterior veneer (or at least that's what I think it is from the pictures). One consideration is providing adequate ventilation for the xbox since they tend to overheat when confined to tight quarters. Perhaps some food for thought if you revisit this design later on.
Cheers
Thanks Nathan.
There are no veneers...the material is actually 1 1/8" thick! The corners are mitered with a biscuit joint. The thickness of the Fir allowed me to round the corners with out exposing the biscuit or taking strength away.
X box ventilation is important! What you can't really see in the pic is that the back of this piece is totally open. This has a great unanticipated effect...The whole piece is so bright with light.
Solid wood, even better! I figured there must be some sort of accommodation for the xbox that I wasn't seeing... Nicely done sir.
