The Second, Large Column Carving, of 2500 B.C. Persian King
This is the second carving it is of a king battling a monster.
This is the second of the two Persian king carvings for a custom column that I am making for in a customers home. The carving is 18-in. x 24-in. and the stain will match the gray slat color on the artwork. To seal the wood I brushed on a conditioner on both sides of the 2-in.-thick basswood.
This Persian king is battling with what is known as a monster. The monster is a mix between a horned lion, raven and scorpion. This is the other side of a carved column for a customers home. The opposing two sides of the column is hand-carved to match artwork provided by the customer of two different Persian Kings while the other two sides will have routed flutes down the sides with a base and top crown molding.
