I was just looking at this plan from the volume 3 tage frid teaches woodworking the other night. Is it comfortable? What was the most difficult part about this. I have never built chairs before but hope to for my next project. :)
it's very comfortable as it supports you in all the right places and is as stable as any 4 legged chair. it's also very light. i would start with a simpler chair than this one. the angles, through mortises, and giant structural dovetail make this a more difficult and time consuming project. someone else posted-" there's a lot going on with only 8 pieces of wood."
I have long admired Frid's design for this stool. You have done a terrific job. Well done!
