Doors Make the Difference
Five options dramatically change a basic boxDoors are the most obvious feature of many wall cabinets, kitchen cabinets, and freestanding cabinets. By changing the style of the door, you can subtly or significantly alter the appearance of the cabinet. In this article, Christian Becksvoort shows how he made a simple wall cabinet that mounts on a hidden hanger and functions in a variety of settings. He demonstrates how to make a frame-and-glass door, a flat panel door, doors with hand-carved panels, doors with a vertical center stile and recessed panels, and carved, flush panels separated by a vertical stile. Detailed drawings of these five variations show how they go together, and side information explains the hidden cabinet hangers.
