Hirsch Tools - Bench Chisel
This tool, made in Germany, has a hornbeam handleThis German-made chisel has an eight-sided, steel-banded hornbeam handle. The blade looks remarkably similar to the one in the Two Cherries chisel, the only difference being that the Hirsch chisel has a little elk stamped into the blade near the tang while the Two Cherries chisel has (surprise, surprise) two cherries as its stamp. I called Highland Hardware, a dealer of Hirsch chisels, and was told that the two brands are “made side by side at the same plant.” The tool scored an “good” on the toughness test. The price is for set of four chisels.
