A dual-action slide enables a 7-1/2 in. blade to cut wide boardsOn the road at the Association for Woodworking and Furnishings Suppliers (AWFS) annual tradeshow in Las Vegas, Fine Woodworking editors were on the look out for new and interesting tools for woodworkers. In this video, we examined Makita’s new 7-1/2 in. four-pole slide compound miter saw, which provides a wide cutting capacity with a small blade and footprint. In addition to saving space, the tool also accepts 7-1/2-in. dia. blades, which cost less than the standard 10-in. dia. blades.
