A Simple Dado for Shelves
Use your router and a shopmade workstation to cut perfect dadoes.
Cutting dadoes properly with a router requires precision measurements, as well as control over the router and the workpiece. In this video, router aficionado Pat Warner shows off his “router horse” as he leads viewers through a lesson in precision router joinery. He shows tricks for marking and setting up a dado cut. And he explains how his long, narrow router horse provides a work surface at a comfortable height.
Warner, a self-taught designer, craftsman, and well-known author who has been working wood for the last 25 years, shares a technique that takes only a few minutes and results in perfect dadoes every time.

Very helpful. Glad Warner made suggestion about minimizing breakout by back cutting leaving edge.
Agreed on breakout, problem solved. Thanks
