Disposable Doweling Jig
When joining face frames, make this doweling jig from 1-1/2-in.-long scraps from the frame’s rail or stile and a piece of plywood. Bore the two guide holes in the block on a drill press, then glue the block between two pieces of 1/4-in. plywood that extend 1 in. from each end of the block. Mark one face and one edge of the jig as reference surfaces to ensure consistency when drilling dowel holes.
