Tune Up a Contractor’s Table Saw
Use these techniques to set up your tablesaw blade for square and accurate cuts.
Contributing editor Roland Johnson demonstrates how to set up a tablesaw so that the blade is parallel to the miter slot and fence and square to the surface of the tablesaw. Johnson goes inside the assembly of his cabinet saw and takes viewers through every step of the tune-up process, including adjusting the trunnion, setting the angle of the blade, and adjusting the fence for parallel. His tips can ensure accurate ripping and crosscutting and keep your shop workhorse in tiptop shape.
