Woodworkers generally hone their chisels and planes with a bevel angle of 25° to 30°. The specific angle isn’t critical, but the angle chosen must be maintained during the honing process. After 25 years of practice, woodworker Aimé Ontario Fraser gets the best results using a honing guide and diamond paste.
