Using the Leigh Frame Mortise and Tenon Jig
Compact to the point of being portable, this router jig is exceptionally smooth and preciseA proper jig should serve two basic woodworking functions: securing a workpiece and guiding a cutter. The Leigh FMT Jig’s pin-and-template guide system not only meets these criteria but also comes as close to foolproof as can be imagined. Such is the opinion of Boston trim carpenter and cabinetmaker Michael Standish. Assembly and setup require some time, depending upon your familiarity with the tool, but once set, multiple, precise and predictable fitted joints can be expected, as demonstrated in this video.
