Fine Woodworking Turns 30
A look back at the evolution of a magazine and the furniture it inspiredIn celebration of its 30th anniversary, Fine Woodworking magazine assembled a collection of furniture and woodworking constructed over the past 30 years for a special exhibit at the Association of Woodworking and Furnishings Suppliers (AWFS) trade show, held in August 2005 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
The exhibit brought together a dozen pieces featured in articles dating back to 1975, including a rocking chair by legendary woodworker Sam Maloof, a three-legged stool by the late Tage Frid, and the segmented bowl featured on the cover of the first issue of the magazine. View highlights from the exhibit in this video narrated by Anatole Burkin, editor-in-chief of Fine Woodworking magazine.
