Feeler Gauge Works Glue into Cracks

I use a thin feeler-gauge blade to work glue into cracks or under veneers. I’ve had 100% success using this inexpensive tool that’s available at any auto-parts store.

Trusty-Cook Dead-Blow Hammers
Made in Indiana, and recently added to the Lee Valley catalog, they are made of nonmarring polyurethane, hot-cast around lead shot and a steel handle. This gives them a very solid feel and excellent impact. They come in a wide variety of sizes, but I like the 21-oz. ($26) and 26-oz. ($29) best for woodworking use.
Double Sided Tape
A thin woven core makes XFasten tape strong yet not too thick (0.008 in.), and helps it hold powerfully without being difficult to peel off.
