Inlay Made Easy: Carving the Perfect Cavity
Exacting techniques to create an inlay cavity using hand and power toolsIn this video, the second of a multi-part series, Laub demonstrates how to cut a cavity for his aspen-leaf inlay using carving tools and a laminate trimmer with a straight bit. He uses gouges to define the perimeter of the cavity, hogs out most of the waste with the laminate trimmer, then picks up the gouges again to trim the cavity walls.

I really enjoyed the demonstration. Mark explains in a clear, simple manner something that was somewhat of a mystery to me. His description of the process is not complicated and he made me feel like I could possibly accomplish similar tasks. All I need is a few years practice and plenty of patience. A very nice demonstration.
