Martha Stewart visits with Lie-Nielsen Toolworks
For a few minutes on TV this morning, Martha Stewart put aside the herb crepes with wild mushrooms and visited with Tom Lie-Nielsen, founder of Lie-Nielsen Toolworks. He talked about his hand tools and demonstrated some, too. It was, as Martha likes to say, “a good thing.”
For more than 25 years, Lie-Nielsen has been making exceptional handplanes and other hand tools at his factory on the coast of Maine. To learn more about his products, go to www.lie-nielsen.com.
You can read more about the the hand-tool guru and about the evolution of his company and products in this article celebrating Lie-Nielson’s 25th anniversary.

Sorry, I don't want anything to do with this elitist rich-wicth.
My fingers are too big for the keys. That was supposed to read rich-witch....or is it rich-b----?

I had just purchased the LN Low Angle Jack plane and was eager to see it in action. In my hast I hit a pin nail on some end-grain. I was so discus-ted with myself. I initially thought about using sandpaper to remove the 10 or so gouges I had just put in my new plane. My wife convinced my to call Lie-Nielsen to see if they could repair it. I sent it to them and when I contacted them about the cost, they said it would be no charge. I offered to at least pay for the return shipping but they covered that too. WOW. In today's cutthroat economy, they took care of their customer. Ca you guess which manufacturer's hand plane I will be buying next? It will not be from Canada.
Thank you to all of the employees at Lie-Nielsen Tool Works
