This mahogany box was crafted by Tatsuhiko Oga. He used hide glue to join all the pieces. For a finish, he used teak oil and thinned polyurethane on the exterior; the inside is finished with shellac. The box measures 300x200x120mm.
Oga has been woodworking for eight years and has kept up a bilingual blog (English and Japanese) on his activities since 2006. He currently lives in Auckland, New Zealand.
Below are photos showing the construction of Oga’s box. For more inspiration, visit the Reader’s Gallery.

Stunning and inspiring.
Thank you for sharing.
I don't get it. This needs photos of the finished box, with the lid open and closed, and multiple views of the inside and outside. The published photos look random.
