English furniture maker David Fletcher doesn’t design furniture. He engineers it. Says his web site: “Our designs are frequently of a bold nature, genrously proportioned and installed in homes of grand scale. Watching the tables expand and contract is like watching a magician do card tricks. You’re always trying to catch the sleight of hand.

Pretty amazing...
Looks like a major enhancement to the Robert Jupe design from the 1800s. http://www.jupetables.com/ Credit where credit is due. The rotary mechanism has been around for hundreds of years from what I understand.
I'd sure love to see an article on this guy and his tables in FW, or at least something about the mechanism and how it works. Robert Jupe may have made something along the lines of what Fletcher's done, but I sincerely doubt that Jupe's looked and worked as spectacularly as Fletcher's.
