Creating a Fine Art Entry Table by Robert Ortiz.
Schiffer Publishing, 2008.
$24.99; 144pp.
Robert Ortiz has been making furniture for over 20 years and in this book he shares his talents as he makes one of his favorite pieces: the Sofia Entry Table. Creating a Fine Art Entry Table is full of clear, step-by-step photos. In fact, sometimes there will be multiple pages in a row of photos and no text. Then the author will clearly describe the next step, often including how he would do something (implying it is not the only way to do it), and even include examples of mistakes he has made in the past so you can avoid them. The book is written like Ortiz is standing in front of you, talking. If you want to make this table, the book will walk you through the process in an easy, friendly way.

The table design looks interesting
The wives always wanted a new entry table - send it my way please
Beautiful table on the cover, I'd love to read further!!
That looks a darn site better than the one I built for our entryway.
Well..this probably wouldn't fit in my "entryway", but it would sure look sweet in my Study.
I'm predicting I get lucky this time.
Looks like a nice book, count me in :)
It's not how you feel when you create something it's how it makes you feel when it's complete that matters.
There is a growing trend to show photos of cabinet work created stage by stage both in the US and UK woodworking press e.g. Fine Woodworking and Furniture and Cabinetmaking. Quality images are really helpful.
It costs more to produce, but makes the book that more useful.
Well done Robert!
Is this a new idea? Devoting a whole book to a single project?
I think it may catch on.
This looks like an interesting table and book.
Count me in.
My cat's breath smells like cat food.
Nice book and i have to make a hall table in a few weeks.
Give me please!!!!
I could use another book. So many books so little time.
Dan
This would be a grate addition to our house, and my wife even likes it. Cant wait to see it in greater detail.
I'm in.
I'll take it - but hide it in the stack for a while or someone else in this house will want to rearrange the planning once more... .
Chosen at Random? No need for a pithy comment then!
Just made an entry table for a friend. I would love to get some inspiration for the next one I need to build.
Would love to own that book
I have got some ideas in train for a couple of hall tables, entry tables that I am still refining. So count me in.
