Ridgid Table Saw Recall
Ridgid recently announced a recall of their model 4511 hybrid tablesaw. Apparently the blade arbor can break when the saw is equipped with a dado set. There have been three reports of such failures. Fortunately, no injuries were involved. The saws were sold at Home Depot stores between January 2009 and July 2009 for approximately $600.
Saws affected have date codes between CD0829 and CD0837. The model number and manufacturing date code can be found on a metal plate on the rear of the cabinet. Saws with an “Arbor Inspected” sticker directly above the plate or an orange square on the outside of the package are not included in the recall.
Consumers should stop using the saw and call Ridgid (866) 539-1710 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. ET Monday through Friday or visit Ridgid’s website to schedule a free on-site repair.
The Consumer Product Safety Commission is interested in hearing about other incidents or injuries like those described above. You can alert them by following this link.
