These mini-shop devices made a splash when they were unveiled at the AWFS tool show this summer. They’re essentially plastic pucks with grippy rubber on each face. Put four of them under a workpiece to maintain a firm grip for sanding, finishing, and routing. Magazine editor Asa Christiana called them biggest news from the AWFS show this summer. Watch this short video to see how they work and enter our giveaway to find out whether they’re worth all the hype.
To enter, FIRST CHANGE YOUR AVATAR from one of the stock woodworking images to one of your own. It can be a picture of you, something you made, or even an illustration. If you already have an avatar with an original image, you can enter the drawing now.

Just kicking the commenting off here--since I work for FW, I'm obviously not in the running for the Bench Cookies. Had a little fun this a.m. redoing my profile pix in photoshop. Love the filter --> brush strokes tool. Sorry, my avatar is a little "school picture" ish... but it's a start. :)
My profile pic? Simply put .... "Can someone help me get this monkey off my back?" This is a picture of a truck driver's pet that decided to use my shoulder as a perch. It was taken out west in a truck stop. It is one of those cool memories that I like to keep close.
Now on to the bench cookies ... great idea, if they work as well as claimed.
Best of luck in all you do!
Thumbs up on the backstory Beckum. And hats off--I know that you've had an avatar/profile pix for a while now.
looks like a great, yet simple, device to make life in the shop a little easier, Add me to the list
I finally changed my pic. It is a rare one of me working.
Ooo, I'd like a set of cookies. I've heard great things about them.
Changed my pic to a crib I built for my kiddos a few years back. (and finally stopped lurking and signed up)
New to the FWW community...I would love some of those cookies!
I would love to try out these bench cookies! They look yummy for routing edges.
From a photo I took in South Africa last year.
My twin 3-year olds love cookies. Maybe these would get them interested in woodworking.....
Love the bench cookies--they would be even better if they were in my shop!!
I love cookies! Can I get a baker's dozen? :)
Mike
Done. Gimmee gimmee gimmee....
mmmm....cookies
I love cookies. I love benches. I'm sure I'd love Bench Cookies. Saw the video from the show and they looked like a great way to support work. Changed my avatar. Hope I don't scare anyone.
Cheers --- Larry
I have been considering buying some of these... maybe I won,t have to!
Ok, I haven't really checked with my bench. But I'm going to guess it likes cookies.... maybe I'll share.
If I win these lovely bench cookies I will have no excuse not to build a bench to put them on.
Chuck
I have been really curious about these every since they came out. But, I am trying to update my hand plane fleet so all the spare funds have went for that. My avatar is my sweet little papillion dog "Gisele".
Mike
everything is better in pairs, including cookies!
I would like a pair of these as chocolate chip cookies don't hold work pieces very well.
I was at Rockler the other day and as I was checking out I asked the usual question "Well, what else do you have that I can't live without...?"
The guy said "Want some cookies?" I said "Sure!" not knowing he meant bench cookies.
I forgot about them and left them in the front seat of the car. A couple of days later my wife said "You think you're funny don't you? I got in the car and saw that package that said cookies on it and got all excited!"
LOL. The funny thing is they work great. I plan to buy another set if I don't win them.
Jerbo
I'm sure I could use some of those!
Here's my homework. Where's my cookie? ;)
The Bench Cookies sound awesome. I hope I win some!
I would love a set of Bench Cookies, we can't buy them here in Canada!!
I love cookies. Is there milk?
I like cookies...
mmm...cookies!
"C" is for cookie, that's good enough for me!
There is always room for dessert!
I don't suppose there's much chance of you sending them to the UK, but here goes anyway.
I'd most definitely love to have a set of these.
My little helper and I are throwing a hat in this race. I promised better tasting cookies for her though....
If it free I want it LOL
Great avatars folks. Just a reminder. To be considered in the giveaway, your profile picture CANNOT use one of the stock images FWW provides. You must upload one of your own creation. Thanks and love the creative pix. Gina, FineWoodworking.com
Opt me in please!
I really need a set of these!!!!
C is for cookie :)
Well, the avatar can be like the tree fruit....then again maybe not.
Getting judged by the only means possible is better than getting lumped in the wrong group altogether.
Cookies are almost always good!
I know where I might use these! :)
I could definately use some of these.
My new avatar is a pic of me doing the inlay for the "Family Box" I posted in the gallery....kind of a neat story to the box...if you get a chance, check it out.
Roger
Want these!!!
Sometimes you just want everyone to leave you alone. A [bench] cookie would cheer me up.
I could really use these! They seem a lot simpler than the rubber mat I use today....
Who wouldn't want some cookies?
cookies!
would love them
of course you can send me some :)
Mmmm...I love cookies!
I like where your going with your site. Great improvements/enhancements. Keep it up!
I could have used a set of these cookies today to get my project off the ground...er bench.
I own a set of these that I bought based on the recommendation on this site. They are great and I would love to have a second set as there are often two of working in the shop at the same time.
Aloha from Maui!
woohoo for the bench cookies
Give me some cookies. Yum Yum Yum
My current profile pic is a bunch of cherry lathe curlies after being run through a Photoshop filter or two.
My current bench is cookiless. Hopefully that'll change in the future.
The good news about the cookies has even travelled "Down Under". So far they are scarce as hen's teeth here but I know a few woodies who hope they'll be left on the plate for Santa this Christmas! I can think of plenty of uses for them in my shop so may have to accept the BIG shipping fees to get some if I don't win. ....You lucky folks with Rockler stores within cooee (that's Australian for "shouting distance")..
WooHoo.. just call me the Cookie Monster! :)
I changed my avatar to a picture of me and my shop buddy. He likes cookies too.
What a great way to get us WW'ers to update our info! My avatar is a block plane that I found in Iraq on patrol. The name on the plane is SOGUARD made in the USA. I just thought it was cool to have a woodworking momento from war.
Bench Cookies - yes please!
These things are cool, What a great idea
Oooh! Oooh! Pick me! Pick Me! Pullleeeezeee! These would surely magically transform me into the master craftsman I so want to be!
these look like they would be just excellent for my needs... having absolutely no shop to work in... no bench even... I desperately need something to stop my work slipping on the kitchen table!!!!!
cheers from Oz
My avatar is a L-shaped Bar I built my Daughter and Son-in-law as a wedding present.
I sure could have used those cookies in that build.
I hope to use them on my next project. It will be the hanging wall cabinet from your video projects.
I LOVE COOKIES!
My favorite is Oatmeal, & Raisin, but I might have to try some of these.
Those cookies look pretty good. I was in Rockler the other day and they feel pretty soft and squishy but I wonder how well they'll grab after repeated use? Has anyone tried them yet?
Will there be cold milk served with the cookies?
" Give me the cookies mummy "
Those Bench Cookies look great, would love to have some!
Cookies, cookies, cookies
Please gimmie cookies!
mmm....cookies...oh, wait, wrong cookies! I am curious as to whether the bench cookies live up to the hype recently.
Cookies, I like cookies. And snack, and treats and cutoffs from the shop.
Nothing like entering a contest in the morning - unless you are making shavings!
Love them cookies!!!
Count me in . . .
pete
Hola me gustan las galletas
Not sure if us Ausies are in the running but it was a good excuse to update my profile anyway.
My avatar is me displaying the work I did when I didn't have a workshop...now I'm building a house!
White Chocolate Macadamia...what? Dang! Wrong type of cookies!
Don't know if Ausies are in draw this time but thought it was a good opportunity to update the profile anyway.
This is the work I did when I didn't have a workshop
I'm skeptical about the cookies. I'd like to try them, to see if they really help.
trid twice I give up .. it doesn't like me
I ordered a set of these cookies from Rockler! They work extremely well. Even better than I had hoped.
I put them on a table top and put a work piece on top of them and it never moves. Sanding or Routing is much easier with these.
Good luck to all in being chosen.
Andy
All done, may I have a cookie?
Cookies!!!! Me love cookies!!!
These things look great. No surprise taht it comes from Rockler...
Cookies! You can't handle the cookies! My apologies to Mr. Nicholson.
I walked into Rockler a couple of months ago and I saw their display of Cookies and immediately saw the usefulness of the cookies, so I bought two sets (8) of the cookies. I use them for large sanding and routering tasks. I have cut down on the amount of clamps I use to hold a project because I just throw a couple of cookies under the project and the project gets completed faster due to no clamps to move and reset up. But I can always use more Cookies.
I would like to try out these cookies. I have a small workshop and rarely have enough clamps. I have seen them on the counter at Rockler in Denver.
Oh by do I feel stupid
I was looking at the wrong end of the posts to see if my post was successfully submitted ... sorry
I'd love to give to cookies a workout
Awesome, I need a new hockey puck
I'm gluten intolerant so I don't get to eat cookies very often, but I'm looking forward to having a big plate full of Bench Cookies.
I'll take the Walnut Chip Cookies, please
I suspect that these cookies are a bit chewier then my favorite tall house cookies.
I keep hearing about these cookies, would love to try out a set
I did it, can I have milk with my cookies ?
Any tool in a storm. :)
Never heard of those cookies...they look tasty...mmmmm....cookies...
Hey! I should get xtra points...my Son's name is Asa, as is my middle name, my grandfathers middle name, and my great-great Grandfather's name, just like the cookie photographer!
But heck yeah...I'd be glad to test'em!
Simple solution to vexing problem.
I could definitely use a set of these!
man, this drawing goes on until Nov 12! That's gonna be a LOT of entries. Win me a cookie!
These look totally handy - I am sure that I could use them when I am working on my vintage car as well (sanding small parts). Really cool!
Looks like a winner to me! I need these today!! :)
Looks like a winner to me! I need these today!! :)
I love Fine Woodworking and Rockler. Keep up the good work.
I just love woodworking and would like to try Bench cookies, please enter me
Cookies! Yummy, I would love to try them!
I've enabled cookies on my PC to increase my chance of winning. :)
Cookies can be fattening ... Beware!
I think it's safe to say that all the "cookie" related comments have already been made, so let me simply say
I WANT SOME BENCH COOKIES... PLEASE !!!
I currently use shelf liner as mats, comes in a roll at Costco, works the same as the stuff I bought at a wood show. I would like to try the cookies!
toot sweet , send me the cookies
Been wanting to try these puppies...but they closed my local Rockler, so been waiting for more items to order....they're not too expensive, but paying 5-10 bucks to ship them? No thanks :)
Me. Want. COOKIES!
I have wanted to try these... they look like a great idea!
I too have heard great things about the cookies and would love to try a set of them! Promise to submit a thorough review!
My router eats bench cookies for breakfast.
COOKIES?
Who said "COOKIES"
I'm in!
I love COOKIES!
Need me some of them Bench Cookies!
I'm curious if these cookies live up to all that they claim.
Cookies sound good
Avatar shmavatar. You get a picture... :-)
My dog likes cookies!!
My husband built his bench using maple bowling alley sections. These would be a perfect complement to it.
Karen
Mmmm... My husband loooves cookies. And gadgets. So this is the best of both worlds.
I updated my avatar (I stole if from the cover of "Handplane Essentials" by Christopher Schwarz because it is a great book and got me started - and hooked on - handplanes).
Eric
Pick me, pick me, I never win anything!
Take 2 (the first time my avatar did not display).
I updated my avatar (I stole if from the cover of "Handplane Essentials" by Christopher Schwarz because it is a great book and got me started - and hooked on - handplanes).
Don't think I would buy these unless I had a set to try first. But, when i like a tool, I am one to let the local woodworking community know about it! I'm a bit of a tool hound.
Why not?
Eric

I was at Rockler yesterday and they had the cookies on the counter - wow, I was impressed. these things are not a gimmick - they work very well.
Cookies? Who doesn't love cookies. My favorite is shortbread, but I'll take a pair of bench cookies.
Sign me up. Would love to have them!
Naturally, I already have a set of these cookies. Bought 'em on sale. They work just as they're supposed to work, and I sure wish I'd dreamed up this idea. If I win (fat chance, of course), I'll give them to one of my buddies who I know is too cheap to buy them for himself. He hasn't yet figured out that this woodworking thing is all about getting tools...
I'd Change mine, but I like it. These B.C. are fantastic I think, not too expensive and an idea I almost cannot believe is new. A mat is one thing but it never raised the work a little above the table for the router bits. awesome accessory.
I saw them at Rockler. They appear to work as claimed. Don't know why I didn't pick up a set. Maybe his giveaway is why, who knows.
OK, one avatar... Frankly, I really do look a LOT like the picture.
-*Andy*-
I did pickup a set of these and they work great. I used them only this weekend when sanding a butchers block cutting board. It raised the workpiece away from the bench and held it rock solid.
I could always use anither set - hint, hint ;-)
Bench cookies? Ever since I got that granite top tablesaw I prefer to eat my cookies off of it. It doesn't mind the spilled milk.
Send cookies. I'm always hungry for new toys...tools.
Hmm...I wonder what woodworking in space would be like?...I had better stick to a place where I can use these cookies!
Cookies look like a great idea. Actually they look like they could be made with blocks of wood, rubber pads cut to size, & rubber cement ... but if you want to save me the trouble & give me some, that's even better!
I bought these bench cookies the first time I saw them. Have not regretted it one bit, they work exactly as advertised. I couldn't get them to slip with either random orbital or belt sander, they stuck like they were glued down.Highly recommend that you buy at least two sets , so that you always have enough!
I'm sure they work great. I use something similar I made from blocks of wood with pieces of old "mousepad" glued on, but I'll take a store-bought set if you'll send them!
Well...didn't have time to play with the creation of custom avatar in my own image...but, this little bunny always makes my wife and I smile seeing it on a dogwood tree outside the kitchen window.
I would love some cookies up here in Canada via this contest!! Shipping from Rockler is a killer and is often more than the cost of the product. I am definitely a cookie monster and can bake up a storm. I can not make these ones so please send them my way. Many thanks,
Don
Well I have to admit that I already have a set of these, but they are very handy to have around the shop...and like clamps, you can't have enuf of them.
Kaboodle, the shop cat, sez.........I need these for all of my projects.
Just the zazz my shop needs!
I sometimes refer to fast food burgers as "slippery pucks". These bench cookies would be the opposite: "sticky pucks".
Unlike other "hold-down" products, these cookies appear to require minimal contact with the piece being worked on and provide sufficient height to allow air circulation for dust collection all around. It also looks like they store in a very small space, making them easy to use when needed and easy to get out of the way when they're not. Kudos to the folks at Rockler! They just keep coming up with neat stuff to help us enjoy our hobby more, and at reasonable prices.
As for the Rockler store here in Atlanta/Sandy Springs, I can't say enough about the friendly, knowledgeable staff that goes with the products!
I am between houses and have no shop space! Soon I will be setting up a new shop and Bench Cookies would be a great addition.
I purchased a pack of these and could not be more pleased. I use a Lamello lipping planer to flush trim melamine shelf boards with solid wood facing. In the past I would have to clamp the boards down, unclamp and turn, clamp again, etc. With these "cookies" it is much easier and I have not had the need to clamp a board of any size. Great item.
Already have a couple but could always use more...Love 'em.

I've got to see for myself how these little cookie things work. sounds like a great idea if it really does hold things in their place!!

Arrrg!!! Shiver me timbers and gimme my cookies!!!
Sorry, couldn't resist!!
Been looking at these on Rockler.com lately... seem pretty handy!! But, thanks to FWW I've been devoted my shop time to tuning my newly aquired jointer, which is probably at least 10 years old! Anyone ever hear of IMS Jointers? Can't find them on the web!
They look tasty.
After viewing the demo video for Bench Cookies, I surmised that these valuable items will be most helpful for those of us with limited resources. Certainly these cookies could be used on almost any flat horizontal surface to do routing should we be using our bench top for another project!
Count me in. I use similar a system with wood blocks and old mouse pads glued to them, but these are much more streamlined and would go great in MY shop.
Well, it appears that I may be too late, but I sure would like to try a set of the bench cookies. I think that they may be very handy to have in the shop for sanding and finishing.
Always like the free stuff. But, if I don't win, I think I'll buy some anyway. Or make some...
Hey so I finally got my picture changed, so now I am ready to win some bench cookies!
I tried to put a pic in the box but it did not work now how do i do that and I will use the cookies if i recieve them.
Going to Rockler to pick up these cookies! If they perform half as good as everyone is saying, then I'm in. Anything to save time.
You would think, after all the years we have been making tools, we have invented them all.
I have a 1 bedroom condo with a 11' X 20' yard. I transform my outdoor table from dinning area to wood shop on a daily basis. I love small, well thought out, multitaskers that really perform. The Bench cookies are excatly what I need.
I can't wait for the next great invention.
What an ingenious invention. I can't wait to try them out
Looks like a really useful invention. I'll probably pick up a set next time I'm at Rockler.
Looks great. I'd love to see more products like these.
I've got the milk, where are the cookies???
I might pick up a set, if they ever go on sale.
Looks like a great product. They'll come in handy!
What a clever product! If I won these, it would inspire me to clean off my workbench to use them.
Cookies? Yummm... I wonder what flavors they come in. My router perefers plastic, I like chocolate. They look like they might do the same as the wood disks and shelf liner lifts I've been making for use in my shop. Very handy gadgets!
I just got a pack of these and I'm amazed at how useful they are. Why weren't they around years ago? there would be a lot less damage to my workbench if I had them earlier.
Bench cookie sounds like something your computer would get from a website.
I own 2 of these little critters, and they are a useful addition to anyone's shop. Good Luck in the Giveaway!!!
Certainly hoping the cookies crumble my way...
Got my cup of tea -- bring on the cookies.
Got to love the cookies!
Useful gadgets. Especially when the pond freezes over!
These thing are awesome. Would make working on my new cabinet doors much easier...
Honestly ... really honestly ... I need these cookies !
Hope Santa leaves some cookies in my stocking.
They don't look as good as my wife's cookies, but I guess those would fall apart if I tried to hold stuff in place with them. Messy.
This new products looks like it may my projects from routing dents and painting problems.
I would to be to test these cookies in my shop.
If I had a set of these cookies I could give my wife her rubber shelf liner back. Then maybe she'd make me the other kind of cookies.
Clever idea! They'll certainly come in handy when the anti-skid shelf liners or rug pads are too thin.
Woodworking to me is often as confusing as my avatar. Maybe these fat free cookies will make it simpler.
I like cookies!! Great site, I need to find more time to spend in the shop ....but I'd still like some cookies :)
Always looking for products and techniqes to make life easier. Rockler may have a winner.
When I first heard about the bench cookies I was afraid they would slip on the sawdust we are creating when we use them (and posted my concern). I have seen them "live" and they are fine. Good idea!
would love to try set-so i want to win of coarse
They look like an Air Hockey Puck but I'm sure I'll find a home for them in my workshop :-) Thanks in advance Rockler & FWW !!
I picture these as useful on (benchtop) routering when edging all 4 sides of a square piece.Previously I had used something like the rubber mat to hold the workpiece. These cookies appear better because of their thickness and their elevation of the project higher than the rubber mat. So if I win a set, I will put them to use, and retire the rubber mat.
Cooookies! I just love cookies. Send me more.
these cookies seem like a great idea... but probably don't go well when dipped in milk.
The cookies are great to use. Excellent product.
"SWEET" WOULDN'T IT BE NICE IF WE ALL COULD STICK OUR HAND IN THE COOKIE JAR AND PULL OUT A SET OF THESE ? YOU BET !
Cookies, cookies, I love cookies and am eager to try these. My bench could sure use a set!
Where have these been all my life?
well, now that I've entered, I'll go buy my lotto ticket.
:-)
it's funny, I just saw these cookies on the Rockler website last night and thought they looked like a great idea. Fingers crossed that I'm one of the lucky winners!
Seen the cookies advertised. Not sure whether they're a gimmick or a valuable new idea. If I win them, I'll find out and let y'all know!
Free cookies?! I would certainly enjoy that!
Gimme' those cookies!!
"C" is for cookie, that's good enough for me.
I really like the idea of these bench cookies. Unlike a non-skid matt on the bench, these get your work up off of the bench top and allows you to do things like routing edges. Love to have a set.
Bench cookies...one of those why didn't I think of that products.
Cookies? Did somebody say cookies? Me Cookie Monster! Okay, so they're bench cookies. Me love them just as much. Just use them for different reason than chocolate chip. Bring 'em on! Ha, ha,ha! Yum!
Those bench cookies sure can make life alot easier when your project doesnt slip off the work table. Great invention !
I have used painter's points and sanding mats for some time - these cookies look like a great combination of the two!
Hey....I posted a comment...These avatars are kinda small!
wow so many comments. the only thing i can say is, hey if it's free it's for me!
Being fairly new to the woodworking thing I can use all the help I can get. Besides, everyone knows cookies in the workshop make the work less like, you know, work.
The "bird" avatar thing...I saw these little guys crammed in the nest and thought...what an opportunity for a little home renovation. They all flew the coop before the Birdhouse was finished. Oh well. :(
Our project start with trees. My new avatar is a hemlock tree given to me by a friend. I plan to chronicle the life of this tree from the ground to the final project(s) yet to be determined. One of many will include a spalted piece.
Stay tuned.
The cookies look great. I would like to try them.
Four Cookies please. I love cookies
I like GEide's pic. Nice dimples. Hope this helps me to win the bench cookies. Thanks!
HUUMMM DID SOMEONE SAY COOKIES.......I sure would love to try theses in my garage/shop.............
Great contest - finally able to compete evenly with the pros at FWW.
Cookies did someone say Cookies.I would love to try these out in my garage/shop....looks like a great tool to save some time.........thanks
Cookies and woodworking, together? WOOT!! My two favorite things on this planet. Just thinking, I've never had a BLUE COOKIE, before. Should be interesting . . .
Yeah...I like Cookies!!
This is kinda neat!!!! My projwct was simple but there were
37 of them!!! Can't wait to see who wins!!!GOOD LUCK TO ALL!!!
If cookies help me at my bench
I would like to have quite a few
But If I don't have any skill at all
Then even hundreds won't do!
My wife was hoping for a trip for four to Cancun but the cookies will have to do.
I am always willing to try something new!
Cookie!
You ask for a picture, but didn't specifie what age.A cookie back then was something you ate these don't tasty but sure looks like they hold onto wood really well.got to get some!!!!
Do they come with chocolate chips?
These look like a great idea rather than using dowel centres or small rubber bumpers.
New Cookies! I'm up for anything that will replace what I have now. On another note, I like the site and the video's. It's quick and allows me to visit for a few minutes, drop off, and return when I have a few minutes.
I`m thinkin` that hockey pucks with a piece of router pad glued on, will work just as well, but if I win some I will try both and post here with my results.
Are they soft enough to be sliced and filled with cream?
I could have used the cookies on my cupcake stand?!!
The one thing I like about this hobby is great innovation is still alive! So simple but yet so useful, good luck to all on winning the cookies!!
Are they available by the pound or by the douzen?
They look "hot"!!
Best,
Serge
I certainly would like a set of these cookies
How come it took so long.....?
Brian S. Campbell.
Okay, I'm a sucker for free cookies, even blue ones. Besides, anything that will keep things steady and slip free is a plus since I'm all butterfingers. Oh sorry, that's a costly brown candy bar, not a free blue cookie. I hope they are a success and help everyone that eventually buys them. I probably will, since I know I need them (as stated honestly above). ;-)
Now these are one of the few things that I have room for in my tiny little shop. And as a bonus, And these cookies won't blow my diet.
I never turn down cookies, and free cookies are the best.
Bruce
mmm cookies!!! Cookies are good for eating and...for...holding wood?? Sign me up for sure!!
There's always room for cookies.
I want cookies!
I've said it before and I know I'll say it again in the future... "Now why didn't I think of that?"
I wish I had "invented" these = but I'm gonna make my own by gluing some non-skid to the top and bottom of some wood blocks.
Looking for Cookies... So what's your fave kind of cookie to eat? mine are ginger cookies...
CHUR LOVE COOKIES
I Love any and all cookies. Please pass the cookies.
My favorite cookies are chocolate mint cookies
Now all I need is the bench :) if I win
Good luck all
Hope they have chocolate chips and pecans!
These look extremely simple, but very useful.
Wood love to have these for my boyfriend. Hello to all the GREAT woodworkers at Red Rocks Community College!!!!
They look like they woodwork great, send a gallon of 2% with them , thanks
Have these been approved by Don Rickles?
I've eaten Thin Mint cookies,(crumbled on vanilla icream), deleted Tracking cookies,(from my laptop), tossed all my cookies,(on a bad night), sure would like to try the Rockler Bench cookies, (on one of my upcoming projects).
I bought them, 2 sets, and for the first time in 15 years I brought in a full size sheet of plywood, put it on my 2' X 8' bench and sawed away to my hart's content. No more working on the floor, or piles of styrofoam dust. Great product.
i appreciate a good cookie
My Dogs Will Love The Cookies.
My hat's in the ring for the cookies!
I love cookies with milk, icecream, coffe, and of course while woodworking. Please send them right away.
Cookies? We don't need no stinking cookies!
Can always use good cookies.
Gotta admit that I am seriously wondering how good these things are, and am kind of doubtful. What's wrong with just using clamps or dabs of silicone on scrap wood? Still... it might be nice to try them to see if they're worth it.
The Rockler Cookies work well. I could use some more.
Bench cookies!
I was just thinking about some bench milk>
personal pictures are always the best!
Its about time someone came up with a idea like this good work.
I love cookies! Especially these that can't go straight to my "spare tire"!!
Me and Paul Bunyan, just hangin out. You cant have woodworking without lumberjacks!
"Selected at random..." Hmmm, I'm so random it hurts!!
I'll try it again for the bench cookies
This would be great to have until I get a real bench with vise
These cookies look very interesting. Although, something in a chocolate chip sounds good too.
I like clever simplicity. Put my name in the hat. If I don't win some cookies, I'll buy them.
BTW, I hope Norm Abrams resurfaces in some woodworking capacity. He has been serious a entertainer/teacher for me for years.
Molly does all my roughing work -- she's the original ShopDog at our place!
Some time back I made a set of something like these involving toolbox drawer lining rubber and 2X4s. They work pretty well, but I suspect these may be better.
I would like to please win something - when is the random drawing for a SawStop?
Justin
From what I have read, these work very well. I hope I get to find that out for myself.
My picture is my workshop. It is the first true "building" I built (I assume dog houses and tree houses don't count). I am going to install vinyl siding on it to match my house in the spring.
I spent this summer on the house; next summer I hope to tackle the workshop.
I'll upload an "after" picture then.
Matt
These look like they will work better than hockey pucks if they don't slip in the saw dust! I think I will give them a try!
Hay, I am a Dutchman, I'll post for a cookie!
20 hours to cane a rocking chair seat for my sister. One pleasure of building a piece for someone is that I think of that person often during the process. I owe my big sister so much more than this chair, once I thought about it...
Sure, I'd like to win a set of bench cookies!
These cookies look like something I would like to try out. The avatar pic is me eating an ice cream sandwich (that's two cookies). If I still passed the Rockler store ever week or tow like I used to, I'm sure I would already have a set in the shop.
Kiss my Ash, now bring on the cookies :)
Bring home the "cookies"
I wish Norm all the best. Here in Australia we just received This Old House in New Orleans; still get some handy info from this show
Mmmmmmm... cookies... me like... :)
I'm a Wood Ape.
Looks like a great product.
Hopefully, by next spring, I'll have converted a backyard shed into a woodworking shop. Many of the ideas for the shop and essential tools have come from Norm's shows. I've always liked his attention to detail. Good luck to Norm and the crew on future projects.
The bench cookies would be a nice addition. They are already on my shopping list.
Updated my avatar today. And I found a new use for bench cookies yesterday. My wife and I were making sauerkraut and I put the cookies under the food processor to keep it from walking all over the counter while I was shredding 10 heads of cabbage.
Pass the on fat cookies please.
Lots of fun avatars!
Finding a pic of myself was more trouble then I expected, gotta start handing that camera to somebody else.
I love me some bench cookies. Please enter my avatar in the contest. :c)
I just love cookies...
So how about a nice tall glass of titebond to go with those bench cookies...?
hmmmm... gotta love the cookies
changed Avatar to a picture of an Elk photographed in Rocky Mtn National Park just for laughs. Beautiful animal, spectacular place....... and I'd like the gadgets please..heh,heh.
I think bench cookies are what I need for my next routing project!
Bench Cookies sound cool. BTW, this is Ian.
Done deal.
I've got hockey pucks as footpads on all of my woodworking machines and workbench. I might as well try some on top of the workbench, too.
To be clear, I strongly suspect that the Rockler "pucks" (cookies) are more tacky, right? I'd be happy to contribute to comparison/evaluation results!
Tool using primate.
Require tools.
Dear Norm,
NYW got me interested in woodworking. Thanks for all your efforts. Best of Luck.
Julian
Cookies ? What kind are they Chocolate ?
I think the bench cookies are a very smart idea, and for a very fair price. I want a pair!
Bench cookies - neat idea!
Mmmm ... cookies ...
Here is my avatar, just a pic of me after i won the South Dakota state indoor archery tournament around a dozen years ago or so. anyway, i like cookies... any kind of cookies!
Cooooookieeeeessss!
Got to have some of these. A few free ones to start my collection would be great!
Sure would love some of them cookies..... they would go great with the new workbench I'm building.
The first time I saw these advertised, I decided they would be just the ticket! Now I just need to get a chance to stop by Rockler to pick some up!
I would find the bench cookies very handy!
Stevie and Cody love cookies.
As everyone knows the best time for cookies is when we take a break, and prop our feet up!
"COME TO THE DARK SIDE, WE HAVE COOKIES!!!"
There is nothing better than cookies...! I usually eat them but I'll try them on the bench, too.
Can't seem to get this right - I need some avatar magic.
I read about the cookies in the most recent issue of Fine Woodworking and they appear to be ideal for edge routing - would like to try them out.
I'm more interested in making this avatar work than the cookies at this point.
Was it the cookies that were magic?
I like cookies - even though I never saw Norm use any...
"C" is for cookie and cookies are for me! Nom, nom, nom.
i'lld like to know how i'm supposed to change my avatar....? pc 101... i missed it,....
Will work for cookies
Have to agree with Epistaxis - I've changed mine four or five times and I'm still just a shadow of myself...?
Here is a dog who is ashamed of the hat we put on her. This is my dog, Noelli.
Don't forget to save the change on the bottom left corner of the 'edit my settings' page. My new one is an ode to being in too much of a hurry. I've always had a rule for riding a motorcycle and driving a car - NEVER be in a hurry, you don't get there faster, it's only dangerous." now the same applies to woodworking for me with the daily reminder on my left hand. Damn miter saw.
I'm the cookie monster, but never had BENCH COOKIES... do they taste good? Need some to try... when not on my "GOLF CART"... That wooden rack has been everywhere, even on a trip from Florida to Canada.
Wow! So many different personalities, if the avatars are any example. And the one factor we have in common... Wood!
Something like this?
I.m in!!!
Do they come in chocolate?
send me the money!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Those cookies look great and I would love to try the.
I'm in too!!! I'd love to get a set like those
My son said he would love to try them out (knowing him he thinks they are a toy, no matter what Dad says).
No woodworkers were hurt making this prop. It's not fine furniture. The local gun club wanted props to hide behind during combat type contests. I made them a big blue mailbox and a fireplug. The fireplug was made out of cardboard concrete forms and an old woodturning jam chuck. It had a compartment in the base filled with sand for stability. The cookies look like they would work great on the cherry frames I am making for some large mirrors.
Hey! Just what I need! Cookies with no calories.
wow, that's a whole lot of comments...
Cookies go well with ... Scotch anyone?
to Perdudan... just changed my pic, and a not so rare one of me drinking... er, sampling a fine Scotch. I think it's important to do something with all of that stuff so that I can get my hands on the white oak barrels for projects ;-)
BTW, the instructions neglect to mention that you must first click "log on"... then follow the above directions...
Um, does this count as a cool avatar? I've been wanting to get a set of these cookies, to go with the new bench I'm building!
Cookies ?!?! Did someone mention Cookies ???
I like Cookies.
Hey all...
Hmm Cookies have to taste better than knotty pine. FlWoodRat
mmmmmm Cookies
What a great way to get people to upload an avatar. I've been hungerin' for a set o' those cookies since they first came out, but never got around to buying them. Maybe I won't have to. :-)
Here's my avatar. I'll be interested to see how many people know what it is.
I love cookies! Yum, Yum, Yum, must have cookies!
Any smart dog can tell that Bench Cookies are great.
Tim
Cookies! COOKies! COOKIES! I LOVE cookies! Best thing to come along since... COOKIES!
Even Cone Monsters love Cookies!
Me love cookie!!! Cookie good for me.
Woodworking "Cookie" monster.
Glad to be in the running for a bunch of cookies! My pic is a chair I made in a Brian Boggs workshop. Lots of fun.
Hi Folks, Thanks for the comments and for updating your avatars. We'll announce the winner during the day Monday, Nov. 16. Thanks, Gina, FineWoodworking.com
As where I assume I didn't win, who did? Or is this another fine moments of I missed the large banner on the homepage?
