Santa can't decide which table saw to bring me.
Of allthe things I really want.. and to a degree need.. at the top of my list is a 14 inch bandsaw.. lke the Rikon or Jet. Cabinet type.. If Sant felt really generous I would like a Laguna... and then I need some lumber to finally make my workbench..
A 14" bandsaw and a planer would make me a happy chappy.
I have the mini lathe. A full size lathe would be nice.
What I really need is more space to work in.
Santa brought me a bench top mortiser, just in time to make a baby bed. Now I'd like to upgrade my tablesaw as a first priority then a stationary planer.
My small shop would love to see a 12" bandsaw: efficient and functional. And more experience with hand planing!

After too many years to count it is time to replace my 10 inch sears table saw and very old converted meat cutting band saw, Saw Stop And Grizzly for resawing sound like the way to go. Now that is a wish list!
A planer is my next big addition (after a bandsaw).

Just treated myself to a Dewalt planer for my 80th birthday and it is great. Now I need a bigger dust collector, then an 8" Jointer, a new unisaw and if Santa hears this and delivers ??? I will then need a new bigger shop to get everything in ! I simply cannot imaging a life without a good shop. I really have been a good (old) boy Santa.
I need space, power for more machines. Has to be the garage as basement is just too tight.
Merry Christmas! I hope Santa brings me a Saw Stop. And a moisture meter. And a dado plate for the Saw Stop. And a dado cartridge for the Saw Stop. And an extra regular cartridge for the Saw Stop. And the mobile base for the Saw Stop. And $10M so I can quit my job and spend all of my time in the shop. In fact, how about the cash and I'll pick up all of the other stuff?
The definitive answer is "YES"--altho one of the table saws and/or any other multiple choice of the same type item would suffice.
A combination belt/disc sander would put a smile on my face.
A CNC machine would really be handy for guitar building

Getting uninterrupted time to work in shop so there is time to think through a project and not have 10 .5 hours but a 5 hour sesson would be nice.
A sliding table saw would be nice but may not fit in my shop. and spare set of hands to manuver heavy boards and plywood.
There is lots of great stuff out there but I am just trying to keep from overfilling my shop with stuff I do not use although pretty to play with it..
I'd love a SawStop PCS--The nicked tip of my right middle finger is a constant reminder of how potentially dangerous the table saw can be if misused or incorrectly used, and I have been leaning to this option over the Delta or Powermatic versions because of the safety feature.

I have most of the woodworking tools I need (there's always the need for more clamps), but after moving from Ohio where I had a basement shop to Memphis where they don't even have basements, what I really need is a heated/air conditioned shop to put all the stuff I have to work. Garage shops don't work in Memphis... at least not for me. Its either too hot and humid or too cold. Plus we have two cars to house in the garage. Are ya listening Santa? I've been good. Sort of.
A smaller wish - a good set of featherboard...
Seems hand tools are on my mind as I try to figure out how to be productive in the evenings in my basement shop which resides under my sleeping children's bedrooms! So and planes, hand saws, chisels, and the time to use them would be great. Santa, can a good boy get a stocking full of shop time?
Oh, and a big silly cyclone so I can stop rolling that one bagger around the room like a drunken mechanical square dance.

Unfortunately, I can't locate the source of this quote but believe it came from an old English workshop. I have it on the wall printed in black with blood red text shadow - put up after bracing a small piece with my left hand while trimming it with a very sharp chisel in my right hand - the last step before turning in at 2:00 a.m. Fully awake, that piece would gave been held in a vice and the chisel would have dug in to my bench top and saved me a trip to the hand surgeon.
Is a SawStop on my list? You betcha!!
This year has passed very quickly and I have learned a great deal from the editors, readers, and authors of FWW. As I heard someone once say, "If you aren't learning - you must be dead." Well I am not dead but my workshop might look like it. I hope everyone has a Merry Christmas and a Happy & Prosperous New Year. And my Santa grant your and my wish list this year.
I desperately need a dust collection system. I'm tired of coughing up walnut dust and filling tissues with black boogers if you know what I mean? I have enough tools to create lots of sawdust, but I just want to do it without breathing in all those carcinogens.
A few days ago I looked into purchasing the Laguna LT ceramic bandsaw guides and was shocked at their cost. I left a message for them to call me back when they would be willing to negotiate a price I could afford to pay. I haven't heard from them yet! Maybe Santa will bring them this year!
What woodworker doesn't need some type of tool. What I could really use is a decent dust collection system to run all my machines off of. The wonderful Leigh Jig would certainly come in handy too! Merry Christmas.
You can never have too much Dust collection. the a Oneida Dust Deputy Deluxe would be a great addition to my shop. Come on Santa I know you can do it.
A full size lathe would be a nice addition to my shop for next year.
Nice BIG bandsaw
I have a MM16 band saw but I keep a 1" carbide blade on it 100% of the time.
I talked Santa into a getting a Rikon 10" band saw to keep the bigger one company.
Santa wants me to have a Sawstop PCS table saw.
Dear Santa:
My shop sure needs a jointer.
All I want for Christmas is a 10" Laguna Platinum Combination saw. That would keep busy for quite a while. Oneida 2 hp cyclone would also be nice.
When we're talking wishes, I can go with an 8" helical jointer, a better bench top planer like the DeWalt 735, and a good set of mortise chisels so I don't feel guilty about all the power tools. ;-)

I have older and smaller table saws and joiners and would love updated ones. I also could really use drum and belt sander to save some hand sanding.
Oops... I listed this in the PT section too, the more the better I guess.
I am still waiting on my new Saw Stop PCS... hint for Santa.
I could also use on of those 12" Jointer/Planer combos, maybe from Laguna, you just gotta dream.

Dear Santa I would really like to replace my 30 year old Craftstman table saw with a cabinet saw. A better rip fence and dust collection would really make me happy.

Power tools I have, Norm may say "you can never have too many clamps", well I feel the same way about routers...bring 'em on.
I'd gladly pass down my old tablesaw for Stopsaw today.
Thickness planer, spindle sander, and a bigger workshop would be perfect.
The table saw I have is unstabel(too cheap) so my son and I wish a new prof table saw.
Well, after my little TS accident this weekend, I and my wife would really love to unwrap a SawStop PCS. Hope the TS fairy is paying attention.

Looks like Santa couldn't get my SawStop down the chimney. May be the Easter Bunny will have better luck.
Well, Santa did get the Rikon 10" band saw down the chimney and it is a neat little machine. It is light enough to store in a corner and put it up on my workbench when I need it.
I am think about writing a review on it later this year. If anyone else has one, let me know what your experience has been.
I'm so tired of "making do with a hand tool that wasn't meant for the job at hand. Like using a stanley duplex rabbett plane to trim sholders and cheeks of tenons. I also agree that one should save to purchase fine tools rather than purchase cheap tools immediately. The difference is striking.

My new craze is turning, so a newer, more modern lathe would be a nice addition to my shop. I really enjoy being able to start and finish a project in a few minutes time, rather than starting and finishing a few days later, as in most projects.
After more than 40 years of woodworking, I have nearly everything, so this planer represents an upgrade, not a must have.
Oh the tools santa wanted to give me this year, but instead he's left me a new car and payments to boot... I know it shouldn't feel like a lump of coal, but... it's what we needed.
Two things I sorely need to upgrade is trade in the old contractor table saw for a new cabinet saw (Thanks to a very close call this year SawStop jumps to the top of my list.) The other item is to move from my little bench top jointer to a full size floor model (and as long as I am wishing - make that with a helical cutter) And though it wasn't on your list, I had a chance this summer to play with a lazer system that definitely makes it on my list. Of course, you know what they say, wishlists are sorta like a.....es, mine is just bigger than most.
A decent midi lathe would find lots of use in my shop.

Howdy Boys. I made the mistake of letting the wife in the garage-shop last Summer and now she has her own wish list for new kitchen cabinets, built-in bedroom dressers, and other "Old School" charm for our home. Now this brings up the problem of box store wood use for face frames and doors; you know, the "why aren't these all the same thickness" problems. Solution? A Dewalt Planner! I voted for that tool because it's a good answer to my situation; you know, the "What?! $600 dollars!!" problem. I sure love her but she just has no grip on what things really cost. Funny thing though, that new ring I got her apparently doesn't count. Happy New Year and don't cut any fingers off!
I did not ask for/vote for any machinery this year. The economy is too tough for something that big right now, but I would love to be able to upgrade my bandsaw in the near future. Though I will probably go for a dovetail jig(after loads of research it would definitely be the Leigh)first since I already have a (crapola)BS.
I love using handplanes, but thicknessing thin, wide boards can get pretty monotonous. A drum sander would look real good in my shop!
I would like to get a new table saw with riving knife and improved blade guard.
Riving knives are a great addition to the new Unisaws!
Being new to woodworking I would be happy to win any tool.
