The big buildoff between Fine Woodworking and Fine Homebuilding has finally begun. The FH/FW shop is a hive of activity, all centered around the 16′ X 8′ set specially built for the event over the course of the past two weeks.

For those of you not “in the know” yet, we’ve pitted Fine Homebuilding contributor Gary Striegler against our very own Tony O’Malley, for a face-to-face duel aimed at highlighting the differences in technique between a trim carpenter and a woodworker? Each of our authors will be constructing a mudroom built-in at our set. With cameras rolling and shutters clicking, we’ll be covering the entire process from start-to-finish, and in the coming weeks, we’ll be launching an entire video series packed with tips and techniques. Plus, both Fine Homebuilding and Fine Woodworking magazines will be covering the event in print.
