On Jan. 18, Jon Brooks, woodworker extraordinaire and member of the New Hampshire Furniture Masters Association, lost his shop and studio to a fire.
Since that dreadful day, Brooks’ family, friends, and colleagues have been helping him rebuild. Toward that effort, the NHFMA is hosting a benefit concert for him on April 3. The concert, “Rise Up! Out of the Ashes,” will display the musical talents of a couple NHFMA members and their bands.
Performers include Celticladda, for whom William Thomas plays flute, Swing a Cat, which features Ted Blachly’s wife, Val, and The Moores, a family band led by Terry Moore.
Tickets are $25 each, and all proceeds go to the Jon Brooks New Studio Project. To buy tickets or get more information, visit the Capitol Center for the Arts website or call (603) 225-1111.
