I spend most of my time reading, watching, listening, and researching how to become a better woodworker. i don't have anyone to learn from face to face, and never had the benefit of shop class, or a trade school. I love books, anything that can give me tips and ideas. It keeps me going.
Thanks

I suspect that most have of us have more problems with finishing than with any other aspect of woodworking - should be useful.

Just putting the finishing touches on a new workshop, I have a corner with a comfy chair and a bookshelf with all my Fine Woodworking books and this would make a wonderful addition :) thanks for the offer.
Just bought a house for my mother. the previous owners must have been descended from bats. all the wainscoting trim and doors are stained a deep walnut brown. The kitchen is a galley kitchen with one window and equally dark cabinets. We replace the kitchen appliances with biscue colored. Is there a way I can refinish the cabinets so that they look lighter. I would like to paint them but do not know how to proceed so that they stain will not bleed through or what type of paint to use, enamal etc. Hoping this book will give me some answers
Finishing is my least favorite part and I can definitely use the help.
I have made many mistakes. i wonder how many of them are common. This looks like a great book to have.
Learning how to fix the fiascoes would go a long way toward getting started with a fine finish.
The Table of Contents is promising and Dresdner is an expert. A digital version of the book should be offered for download at a lower cost.
Count me in. When it comes to finishing... I am.
Count me in, I need all the help I can get !

I need this book because I can learn how to spray like a pro and not have a rough orange peel texture.
I work as a woodworking teacher in Sweden. Haven't heard of Michael Dresdner.
If it is as good as people seem to think, it would be great to
pass it on to my students.
Finishing a project that we have put a lot of time and heart into is always nerve racking. The finish can either make or brake it. This book would be a great resource.
After several finishing disasters (I like to experiment) I could really use Dresdner's help.

Look, the only thing I have less of than skill is time, so I simply do not have the time to go to michaeldresdner.com and check out the 30 separate archive sections that go back to May 2007 or the 37 categories of items of finishing interest, including pore filler. Just send me the book and help me save these disasters I'd like to call projects. It's either that or more firewood.
I only have half a dozen books on finishing. Maybe this would be the one that helped me finally figure it out. Or at least fix what I've learned after reading the first six.
Count me in. I could use help in finishing as well as the next person. Thank you.
Thanks Betsy and Fine Woodworking! I'm new to the "sport" of woodworking and I've been trying to work up the courage to finish some small projects.
I can't wait to get my new book and put it to proper use!
