Tree Craft: 35 Rustic Wood Projects That Bring the Outdoors In
by Chris Lubkemann.
Fox Chapel Publishing, 2010.
$19.95; 128 pp.
This book has 35 projects that can “bring the outdoors in”. Tree Craft by Chris Lubkemann tells you how to make rustic wood pieces for your home using found twigs, sticks and logs. Examples of the projects include lamps, a key chain, salt & pepper shakers and clothes hooks and racks. “Going green” is such a hot topic and maybe this book can help in the effort by providing creative ways to decorate your home with found items.

I love working with wood and I especially enjoy rustic wood creations. I'm always looking for new ideas, so this book is of great interest to me. Sure hope I win!
Thanks for the opportunity.
Another winner for the library!
Seems like an interseting book to add to my woodworking library.
Looks interesting, count me in
I've always loved to work with green wood - the smell and the tactile sensations are terrific. But alas, as the wood dries, my creations begin to shrink/warp/mutate into items that have only a sorry resemblance to my initial planned effort. I am hoping that this book will help in my long struggle to be able to show others my ideas before they begin to dissolve.
Tree Craft and me

Thank You Finewoodworking! I look forward to receiving it!
Well, thanks again Fine Woodworking first for the opportunity to win this book, and secondly for actually winning it!
When first informed, my impression was this book would provide 35 unique projects - and thats it. Well I was pleasently surprised there was more in this book.
First, it starts with "Getting Started". The author takes you through the different woods, their properties, how to find the wood and preparing the bark before you start your projects. Never really put much thought into that aspect of the project.
There is also a section on "Sharpening" - keeping your knife (or carving tools) sharp - very nice touch!
The remainder of the book breaks the 35 projects into 5 diffeerent categories: Decorating, Dining, Living, Playing and Working.
Overall I am pleased with the book, and look forward to making some of the projects for family and friends!
Thanks again!!
