Here’s an exciting bit of news: Furniture maker David Lamb, a FWW contributor, has been named as New Hampshire’s artist laureate.

Lamb told the Manchester Union Leader that he’ll use the largely honorary post to raise public awareness about the arts in general and about hand-crafted furniture in particular. He will serve until March of 2012, the paper reported.

Lamb is a founding member of the New Hampshire Furinture Masters, an influential group which editor Asa Christiana profiled back in issue 147.
