I’m heading for Dallas, Texas this weekend (Oct. 22-24)with The Woodworking Shows.  I’ll be giving finishing seminars at the shows this season.  The seminars feature hand applied finishes and we’ll look at the complete process from designing the piece with the finish in mind right to the final waxing.  We’ll take a look at enhancing your work with dyes, stains and glazes and I’ll show you how to eliminate blotching.

Here’s a little tip: Apply masking tape precisely around an area that needs filler, before filling the void, to eliminate filler shadow in the surrounding grain when the piece is finished.  Blue tape works the best.
