    My Uncle used to do Picture Marquetry and they were wonderful, usually great outdoor and wildlife scenes. I've been interested in how it's done for a long time and depending on how difficult it is would be interested in giving it a try. At any rate I would be interested in reading the book.

    I have started doing a little inlay work but I often have a hard coming up with a finishing schedule. Pore filling in particular seems difficult with different types and colors of woods. How do you keep one wood from contaminating the other either from sanding dust or bleed? How do you fill the pores (and gaps) but not turn everything the same color?
    Any suggestions appreciated.

    Yes, Yes, seems an interesting book. Although I do some minor inlay, I have intentions of taking it further. The basics are naturally a great place to start and this book would be great reading I have no doubt of that.

    I ahve done a little marquetry but am always looking for that tip that will break down the log jam between my desire to create something and the actual ability to bring it to fruition.

    I have a 20 yr old Hegner scroll saw and would love to learn to use it for more than the few puzzles I have cut . Sounds like it would be great for next years Christmas gifts.

    I've just spent the last 30 minutes watching some of the Fine Woodworking videos. Although I enjoy poring over my issues of Fine Woodworking, seeing how a woodworker performs a certain task in an efficient manner ... seeing it in action is almost like having a mini classroom available at any hour. I can play it though, try it on my own and ... Hey, wait, something isn't right. How'd you do that? and play it back again to answer my question. This site is a great addition to one learning woodworking on his own! Thanks.

    I would love to learn more about this incredible art! The grand prize winner at the arts and crafts display at out State Fair is frequently a large marquetry project and I would love to try that. Count me in!

    I`ve always enjoyed Marquetry...I have many plans for many projects but just don`t know how to get started...Every year I go to the big wood show and marvel over the talent in this area and speak with the artisans about it !!! looks rewarding !

    Marquetry is done by several techniques. I have been interested in studying these techniques for quite a few years now and hope to add this book to my library.
