I plan to build a few small wall-hung and free standing cabinets for our growing family after my wife and I discussed their usefulness as both decorative and utilitarian pieces for our modest home. I look forward to the opportunity to own Doug's book, as I expect it to be as instructive and inspirational as his box-making video workshop on finewoodworking.com
I'm a big fan of the small projects, since I can build them in the limited time I have in the shop. This book seems right on target for me.

This would be an excellent addition to any woodworkers bookshelf, myself included!
The nice thing about small cabinets is that you don't really need a big workspace to craft them, the materials requirement is small and you can hone your skills with more challenging design elements as your confidence grows.
Perfect for my collection
If this is only half as good as his book on box making then it'll still be better than most other books - count me in.
Pick me! Pick me! I need to learn!

I teach a beginning woodworking program to 7th and 8th graders at McKinleyville Middle School. In our third year, with over 240 students to date, everything I do with the kids has to be donated, as there is no state funding for the program. This book would be a great addition to our work shop library. Thank you for providing this opportunity.
It looks like another great book from Doug Stowe. I enjoyed his Boxmaking books after I was given one for Christmas a few years back. Also liked his article in Fin Woodworking mag. Keep up the good work Doug !

I would love to be the second winner of this book!
I started out building small furniture items, which were fun, and challenging, but after getting a copy of one of Doug's books at the library I decided to build a few small boxes. It's habit forming. For a small budget, small box building can provide just as much challenge and ability to show artistic talent but without leading to bankruptcy. Having a copy of the book in this offer would provide a valuable guide to further improve my skills.
I'd love to have this book.
Autographed--too good to miss! Thanks for these opportunities, FWW.
Have always wanted to get back into woodworking and this looks like one of the best way to do it. Thanks for the great content will be obtaining in the near future.

I have every copy of Fine Woodworking in hard copy and read every one of them from cover to cover. I am extremely excited about his give-away because when I was recovering from a life threatening disability 4 years ago, I had the opportunity to take a box making class from Doug Stowe when he was here in the San Francisco Bay Area. This book would certainly be one of the crown jewels in my collection!

I really like the look of the cabinet on the lower right of the cover. I would love to win an autographed copy of the book.
On page 6 of Building Small Cabinets, the dimensions of the back call for 15/16" thickness. On page 14, we are told to resaw 4/4 stock to get boards 9/16" thick.
I wish I had read page 14 first!
Are there any other dimensional errors that have been reported? Does FWW have a site where such errors are recorded?
