Barry Shields, from Sevierville, Tennessee, put his woodworking into warp drive to build this Star Trek coffee table, modeled after the iconic Starship Enterprise.
It’s made of ash, poplar, and cherry and is 34 in. wide by 54 in. long by 17 in. tall, including the 1/4 in. thick glass top. According to his website, Shields works for AT&T during the day and engages his woodworking in earnest in his spare time, hoping that selling more pieces will transport him to a new profession.
Looks like he’s having some fun. “Live long and prosper.”

Nice, Tom.
Barry seems to be an enterprising woodworker.
I can hear Shatner now: "She's my coffee table and you're not taking her!"
Indeed, very nice, shows a spock of genius I'd say. Is it oak?
Great to see people enjoying what they build and breaking from traditions from time to time. Nice work!
