I just know if I had this DVD I'd spend less time drinking and more time woodworking.

Sketchup looks like a powerful design tool, I just haven't figured out how to use it yet.
I've been wanting to learn more about the use of Sketchup for woodworking and design.
Sketchup would be a great alternative to my standard engineer's paper and pencil, and it would be easier to make a scale drawing.
I think it would be great to win this DVD !
Thanks
I Love Sketchup!!!
FREE STUFF!!!! I want to win
Sign me up, please
I'd love to see this DVD. Sign me up!

Hope to someday be faster at building things in Sketchup than I can with wood.
Please?!?
If this dvd can teach me how to use sketchup count me in.
Wow!! This is what I wanted exactly.
Thanks for Dave's hard working.
Cheers!
Definitely want to take a chance on this one -- still struggling with the transition from good ol' (graph) paper and pencil to screen and mouse.
I don't use my drafting table any more since I started using Sketchup. Started with Sketchup 3 and now am on version 8. Bought the Sketchup Guide for Woodworkers. if the DVD is anything like the ebook, it will be a winner.
Raises hand, even though I bought the e-book.
Someone has to win. Might as well be me.
Dabbled (struggled) a little in sketch-up. Looks like this DVD would be a great tool and the keys to reveal the true power of the program.
Looks great--I would love to use sketchup more effectively!
I'll take one, to go!
I've tried Sketchup, but didn't get very far. And I'm a visual person, so this DVD sounds perfect!
What a great birthday present this would be (Apr 28)! This is definitely something I would be able to use and even more importantly, pass on to my son.
Something that would certainly help ease the learning curve. Count me in.
I have been fascinated with this program but have had LIMITED success using it. A video is welcomed and overdue.
I am really trying to learn this program but it is extremely time intensive. Requires lots of patience and plenty of practice. I hope I can win this dVD otherwise I will probably have to buy it. Rick
I have tried to learn Sketchup, but to this point I have not gotten very far. It is my turn to get the help I need to be able to build better projects with Sketchup.
Thank you for asking if I needed help.
Would like to get started on SketchUp but would really appreciate the visual training. Sure would beat hearing my son laugh at me.
Sketchup is amazingly powerful, but not completely intuitive. This sounds like a good help to getting started.
Google SketchUp PDF has been very complicated for me to understand...I need help with it, this would definitely be an invaluable tool for me. I have bought and tried to use the pdf version but find it difficult to follow. I've been dying to get SketchUp to work for me. I have determined that using SketchUp would most certainly make me a better woodworker...my problem is at the end of my projects I ALWAYS find that my measurements are a little bit "OFF" and I have to make it work somehow. Fingers crossed.
What a great idea
a book to draw your skills together and to fill in the blanks of knowledge that stop you from completing your designs it is these designs I feel help to grow the joy of working with wood
no matter how much I learn from experience it is always other peoples knowledge that lighten the learning curve
thank you for creating this book and from all of us who will benefit from reading it
I would gladly add this DVD to my collection. Learning Sketchup takes some time. This would help a lot!
Sign me up!
Sketchup is possibly the best free app I've ever used. Keeping my fingers crossed for the DVD.
I would love to win a copy of this dvd? Lord knows I need all them help when it comes to software like this? I hope I win , on very fixed income and cannot spare the money for it so it would be a godsend to win? Thank you Pat
Free stuff great! I'll probably buy it anyway since I need help in sketch up!
If you have an extra, I would certainly appreciate one
I need a lot of help in Sketchup. This would be great.
Lightning strikes? Maybe.
I've had some one-on-one with Dave. He is a terrific teacher!

I build kitchen cupboards & vanities with 2 friends free of labor costs for Habitat here in Western N.C. we sure could use Sketch Up to speed up our time.We are working on our 12th.
house hope to have family in 6-1-12. Then we start another one
be nice to try Sketch Up.
Sketchup is the best tool to design furniture. It is fast to use. The thing is to know HOW! This DVD can help a lot to know more to do the finer detail in design work
I attempted to draw a Swing set, jewelry cabinet, and a kitchen play set with sketchup... needless to say my results were less than useful. I would really benefit from this DVD.
Sketchup has become the first tool I reach for when starting a new project. My struggles to visualize dimensions, joints, and doing sheet good take-offs are no longer a hindrance.
This looks great. I'd like to be proficient in SketchUp so I can easily model designs for projects.
Thanks!
--- Steve
Sketchup is a tool I realy need to learn how to use.
This sounds like a great way to get schooled.
Would love to win this one. I bought the paper version of the guide for woodworkers. DVD would boost my learning.
I would love a free copy! I use SK regularly and always look for FW's blogs to help me improve my skills.
This blogger has been giving me advice for a long time so I can attest to his knowledge of Sketchup.
I could definitely use this. I am sooo lost in sketchup.
Sounds like a great resource. Sketch Up really helps visualize your work in 3 dimensions.
to catch up on sketchup
This DVD would be of great help, pop it into my DVD recorder and watch it on the TV with the advantage any instructions, help aids etc. could be halted, inched forwards or backwards as I try them out at the same time whilst running Sketch-up on my computer. Looks a great deal, even better if I can win a free copy!.
This would be a very helpful DVD. Thanks for the chance.
Sketchup is a great tool! I used it to design an Eagle project for a young scout in my church/neighborhood. Imagine if I actually had some training on this tool! Woo Hoo ! ! !
Me, me.
Thanks for sucking me into the scam. "DVD Giveaway" Like a idiot I am thinking just "request" the DVD and then you will send it. LOL Stupid me, we have to leave a comment and then you'll decide who the winner is of probably one DVD, a whooping $17 value. These scams tick me off so much, that like a idiot I am leaving a comment. What a waste of time!!
Thanks anyway
ElMicko
I've done some basic drafting stuff with Google Sketchup but never anything difficult due to the lack of knowledge. It would be great to have some kind of semiformal instruction on it!
Sure, send me the dvd!
Sketch me up Scotty!
Cat sketch fever!
Hope I catch it!
Sign me up!
I sure could use this!
Pick me Pick me. Why? Why not?
I need help using Sketchup. I down loaded it but have found it confusing. The DVD would probably help. Please pick me because I am a senior needing all the help I can get.
I have been following other video tutorials. I watch, pause, practice, repeat. I do not feel like I am making any headway with learning SketchUp, at least in a way I can put it to use in my shop. I am starting to wonder if this is something really useable, or just something to eat up my time playing on the computer (Mac) and come away with something that I could of scratched out on my graph paper...the way I have done it for years.
So Pick me cause I need help!!!
Thanks in advance for helping this woodworker get a little more modern.....
did i win?
Pick me - I never win anything.
This would sure assist with designs for my woodwork.
Dave does a great job with all his tutorials. Would love to see this video too.
I would love to give this a try!
Sign me up.
I've looked at Google's videos, but something especially for woodworkers would be great!
one for me please...
Yeah need some help here with Sketchup. Definately sign me up Please.
Me too. Sign me up. I'm a slow learner and need a guide badly.
Me too. Sign me up. I'm a slow learner and need a guide badly.
Please send it to Me!!! Love SketchUp
Sign me up....I need to understand how to use Sketchup. I want to develop a library of furniture plans.
Thanks.
I could use more help using sketchup
I'm completley useless with SU, could really badly use this!!
Thanks FWW for all you do!
Sketchup. Love it. Love it. Love it.
a good DVD to add to learning library
Sketch Up is great as I'm artistically challenged (amongst other things)!
Count me in!

Me too. Sign me up. I'm a slower learner and need a guide bad
I understand a video (draw me a picture) better than a book. (A picture is worth a thousand words}
Any help with sketchup would be appreciated.
Very interested in learning Sketchup please place my name in the box. I will probably buy the DVD.
Just spent forever drawing plans and cutting guide for my latest project. I'm in!
One more hat in the ring!
Please, please let me be the random winner.
Could use a good sketch-up tutorial. I would put it to good use.
Why oh why do you exclude your loyal members/customers from outside the US & Canada in taking part in these draws and contests? Do we not pay the same rates as the rest, do we not help to support your company.
By the way there DVD is great, having seen it, it is worth the $17
This sounds like it will bring sketchup to what we really need. Hope I win!
I've been looking for a good drawing program to speed plans for customers. I think Sketchup is the program for me and would love to learn it in the woodworking way.
Best regards from Sweden
I have tried to use SU, with VERY little success. A tutorial DVD would be a great addition to my woodworking library. I'm also sure that it would improve my woodworking skills. Count me in.
I've tried a few different computer based drawing programs without success. This DVD might be just what I need.
To be frank - I don't like Sketchup or even AutoCad for woodworking drawings. I have used both but I think the time investment is better directed to woodworking skills and projects. I have returned to making full-size renderings made with hand drafting.
Maybe, just maybe, with this I'll be able to finally conquer Sketchup.
Hi, this would be very helpful.
I have been making bespoke furniture for 17 years without a days unemployment and a full diary 'till Christmas...all my preliminary drawing is "pencil on beermat" stuff followed by a thorough line drawing from a draughting board.
I'm worried that I'll be slipping behind the times, so trying to get involved in 'SU'...bought and downloaded video, but couldn't open files. Have taken professional guidance on 'un-zipping' recieved folders...If this is my level of 'IT' skills, I think I'm going to be in trouble...?
Looks like it's back to the "quill and parchment", thanks anyway...!!
I have used autocad, corel, vcarvepro, aspire, but have not tried sketchup yet. I'll try
Nice to have a SU DVD that focuses on furniture making.
Please, I need help with the learning curve!
I think this would be a really great addition to my toolbox.
I want to understand SketchUp better.
I would really enjoy knowing how to design projects with Sketchup.
I would definitely be thrilled to win this. I've tried learning and using Sketchup without much success. Thanks for putting this offer out there!
I'm looking forward to acquiring additional (digital) skills
To measure twice, and cut once is easier when starting with a measured design.
The hurrier I go the behinder I get!!!
I've used SketchUp and found it useful for seeing the inside of joints and determining the length of components including the tenons. I look forward to learning more.
I've never tried a sketching program yet but am certainly willing to try something new.
I am one of those that "just don't get CAD." I would like to look at SketchUp again, with some good instructions, and see if I can wrap my mind around it. I have a lot of projects I would like to do and could use a faster way to draw the plans.
Have been using turboCAD for years, but sketchup offers so much more. I really need a simple entry into it though, been frustrating to use so far.
I've used "desktop publishing" software for many years to mock-up scale 2D versions of projects. It's been very helpful for fiddling with proportions as well as optimizing material usage. I've taken a few feeble stabs at SketchUp, but just didn't get it - 3D modeling uses a paradigm that isn't intuitive to me I guess. A video tutorial would probably be just the kick-start I need.
I have looked at the Sketchup type programs, most do not fit my needs. Perhaps a more Basic DVD will be better for my feeble mind.
I've used Autocad in my profession (Electrical Engineering) for a long time. There is nothing like Sketchup for working with Wood Project drawings. It's much easier to learn than Autocad and the best part...it's FREE!
Mike
I've used Sketchup for a few projects, but struggle to get it to do what I would like it to do. A goo training in the basics would be helpful in improving my efficiency in developing my plans.
I know how good it is, I took a one day class. But for some reason I just did not learn enough to do it on my own. It would be great for all woodworkers to know.
I'm in, thanks.
I would really like to learn to use Sketchup better.
Like others, my attempts at using Sketchup have all been futile!
I like what I see others do, including my sons. I have tried auto cad years ago, but it was more detailed than I had time to learn. I have designed most of my furniture projects on paper, but would like to learn sketchup to get them on the computer.
Certainly looks like something I could make use of even if I don't win a copy.
I'm looking for a tool like Sketchup to help with both flat work and lathe turned models/designs. Looks like this DVD would help me get started.
I would love to win the DVD. I am new to sketchup and could use the help in learning the program.
I've used Sketchup a couple of times for very simple projects; projects too simple to need so much design preparation, but intended to help me learn the program. I think this DVD might be the trick to speed up my learning curve.
The most important tool in the workshop is knowledge.
Steve
I've been a FW subscriber from the first issue and still have almost every copy. Still look forward to each issue and really enjoy the E-mail News Letters. I think Sketch Up is a great tool, but I know I need help to use it effectively. Hope I can win this DVD
Joe
I have always wnated to learn Sketchup and this would be a perfect gift for me! I don't usually win anything, but this could be a first!! Thanks for the offer!
After thirty years as a machinist and metrologist I might as well learn how all of those neat little drawings get made.
Yes, send it on.
Yes, this DVD would be a great help in mastering a helpful tool.

Yes, this DVD would be a great help in mastering a helpful tool.
I've tried many of the learning tools for Sketchup available on the internet, but still struggle with it. A video focusing on the specific needs of woodworkers is long overdue, & I can't wait to get my hands on it!
Sign me up. This looks like a great tool.
Guidance specifically for woodworkers would be a big help in learning to take full advantage of what Sketchup has to offer.

I keep trying to learn sketch up and theDVD would really help.
thanks
This might finally get me up to speed on SketchUp, which I've long wanted (and needed) to use effectively.
I use Sketchup to design my projects all the time & I'm sure this DVD would help improve my Sketchup skills.
The FWW e-letter is a great source of skills enhancement; I've been working wood since 1940, and I'm still learning new and exciting techniques.
SketchUp for woodworkers looks so cool. I have been a paper and pencil woodworker for many years, but I would like to take the next step forward in the design stages with SketchUp for woodworkers !
Would be nice to test this sketchup next to my Ironcad!
Learning Sketchup would sure be better fro planning projects than a ruler and piece of parer!
Fairly new to woodworking-carpentry doesn't count-I find myself somewhat overwhelmed by the various techniques, tools and methods. If I could get Sketch-up to work for me, I think it would allow me to pick and choose the techniques by trying them out on the computer first. Of course, I may be expecting more from it than it is capable of.
Thanks Dave, waiting for advanced course.
I will wait to see if I win, but for sure, I will buy the DVD.
I need to update my planing/drawing skills.
I get confused with the program so this dvd will come in very handy!
I've played with the Google Sketchup tutorials and would love to take it to the next level.
Yeah Sketch-up is awesome!
I've struggled with trying to use Sketchup using a book but I find that it is often better to learn by watching and doing. I look forward to purchasing the video if I don't win it.
I love using SketchUp to design projects, particularly those built to custom sizes, but I find when I go back and work on subsequent designs, I have lost some of the points I learned before. I usually search for "how to" tutorials on techniques I need, but forgot. Seeing is so much easier than reading! Being able to pop in a DVD and go right to what I need to review or learn would be awesome.
If it is anything like Dave's posts to the Design, click and Build site it should be an excellent DVD
And now... If anyone thinks Woodworkers are ignoring SketchUp - WOW - just look at the participation here!!!
I like that this video demonstrates the software by creating a "real" project to show how to draw, create bill of materials and print the results.
I like that this video demonstrates the software by creating a "real" project to show how to draw, create bill of materials and print the results.
Been using Sketchup but need help to be better. Thanks for the chance to win the DVD.
Jack
What a great idea to get us started. I'm very much a 'newbie' and need help to visualize projects. I think learning Sketchup is just what I need.
This training video would be great to have in the shop. I hope I win.
I've used Mastercam for laying out projects, but Sketchup is so much easier; would be nice to have this to round out my basic skillset and build a good foundation for learning more.
Although I consider myself to be computer literate, when I tried to learn Google SketchUp I was stymied. Some help would be a greatly appreciated. The older I get, the harder it seems to learn new tricks. Thanks for this opportunity.
Shelley
There are a lot of YouTube tutorials for SketchUp, but most are very uneven and, of course, are not specific to the challenges of woodworking design.
It is interesting that this guide does not appear to be available from Amazon.
I can see the DVD could be most useful! Sketchup has already changed my ability to design and visualise a project, so it would be good to get more out of it.
I finally broke down and learned Sketch Up by trial and error. Painful, but worthwhile because I learned a lot from all my mistakes. I would guess the dvd would have made this a simpler process, but the on-line help is actually pretty good.
Instructions would be AWESOME!
So far, I have turned things upside down, backwards, and inside out. Haha!
Looking forward to winning.
A good way to learn sketchup
I actually stumbled upon SketchUp while reading a blog that compares home design programs. I actually designed my wood shop in it for practice and I can't wait to start designing furniture pieces with it.
this would be nice
A great video to make a great tool easy to learn.
Toss my name in. I would love to learn more about Sketchup.
Sketchup is grest tool to use for allmost wood works.DVD will help tolearn more
Oh yes SketchUp ever since first came out I find it as an excellent tool for a woodworker,if you can virtually build your piece of furniture or design it you can see in advance the problems and challenges that come with the building process and you will not use expensive material.
You can visualize the colors, grain, proportions only with the virtual model and helps a lot when the work is for a customer as the customer can visualize the finish product and do real time instant changes to the design.
So to sum up is a fantastic product in the hand of a woodworker next to the pen and paper...
looking forward to learning all about sketchup
I've been trying to learn Sketchup for almost a year. I'm almost desperate enough to buy the CD.
After using Autocad for 20+ years I would really like to learn Sketchup....
Count me in!
I love Sketchup, but could use some pointers. I can design with it, however, I am sure I am taking the long way around when there are many shortcuts.
VLH
I've used numerous CAD programs but nothing is as simple and easy to use as Sketchup. however i can't help but feel that I'm taking the long approach to building plans, which is what Auto Cad teaches you. This dvd would help me immensely.
Always wanted to learn this software.
sketchup is a really handy tool, i normally use sketch up after a few hand drawn sketches...
Just getting into Sketchup, so I could use a little guidance. Thanks for the giveaway!
Google's ketchup? I don't even like ketchup!
Seriously though, I can use all the help I can get! Thanks!
All thought I am fast at using sketchup for what I do over and over, I know there is a lot that I could learn and I learn best by watching videos.
Would love to learn how to us sketchp for m woodworking projects & be able to store the drawings on a computer for future reference & use.
Well I will be retiring the 30th of May 2012 and finally will have the time to get to work on all the projects I have always wanted to do. I spent 18 years in the Military ( until disabled ) then 24 years driving long haul truck ( as that was the only job I could do with my disability to support my family ), now it is my time to play in the wood shop undisturbed as long as I want...And the DVD would help me with the design process.
I am new to Sketchup, so I could use some guidance. Thanks for the giveaway!
Would be a great tool to add to the shop process.
Been useing sketechup for years on small projects. Would love to have the DVD to help with the more difficult aspects of the design process.
I would love to add this tool to my woodworking projects!
I use sketchup extensively for my designs. I have not had specific training, rather learned it by trial and error. I find it amazing. I have use it to design a house for my brother in law as well as mutliple furniture projects. I find the plug ins for bezier curves especially usefull.
I am currently using sketchup 8 professional. I found that the pro version is necessary to get full scale drawings which I use to make patterns from my sketches.
I think it would be interesting to see some training. There is always a new wrinkle to learn.
Allen
I have used Sketchup some, but would like to learn more about it so I can make better use of it. Great tool!!!
Google Sketch-up is such a great tool for modeling projects. I love it.
I have played around with sketchup, but haven't got very far. Sounds like this DVD could be a real help to get started.
As a beginning user I would find the Sketchup Guide a great tool for improving my skills. The timing is right since I am ready to plan my Summer projects.
Sketchup is an awesome tool.
I have used sketch for three projects but I lack the proficiency to "rely" on the program as my go to drawing method. I would love to get the DVD to give me the visual support that I think would help me thru the technical things that I keep going back and looking up. thanks
Need to learn this and can't think if a better way.
This will help me butcher wood more efficiently. No more extra sawdust.
Love Sketchup and the price. Awesome 3d software. Could learn more with the DVD. I will be looking for my free one in the mail...
Thank you Fine Woodworking for the DVD :)
SketchUp is great tool, with so many possibilities. Can't wait to check out the DVD.
Sketchup is a great tool. I have used it for projects other that woodworking. I can certainly see the value of using it when designing woodworking projects. Wouldn't mind winning a guide explaining how to do it at all! Thanks.
Designed my landscaping with it, working up a kitchen remodel now
I'm living in Japan and a professional woodworker. For a long time, I have been looking for easy to use, user friendly and low-cost 3D software. Now I got one? I'm still struggling to
understand and master several functions in it. I hope this "giveaway" opportunity would give me a great chance to advance.
Receiving the dvd would be a great way to improve efficiency and production in making projects for the people less fortunate and in training people new to woodworking!
We certainly miss the informative SketchUp challenges from DaveR on LumberJocks, and are excited that he has shared his incredible expertise in a DVD. There are numerous on-line helps for SketchUp users but, alas, we have dial-up and they are not accessible to us. Dave's DVD would be a great solution!

I'm in!
I downloaded Sketchup and tried it. It seems like a good and nice program, but I don't quite know how to use it. So thank you for people like Dave for sharing their expertise and helping us understanding and using this program to design better woodworking objects.
I would love to win this DVD.
Bert
I've used SketchUp but would like to learn more. Hope I win.
I have downloaded it and all I need now is to figure how it works. I'm pretty sure this will avoid waste of time and materials...
thx
I think that Sketchup is a great program, and as a novice, I can use all of the help and the knowledge that I can acquire to better utilize this resource in my home shop.
I have some limited experience with Sketchup & would like to learn more.
I've read so much about Sketchup but have not yet invested the time to learn it. Maybe this is it, especially if I use the DVD to teach me the basics.
I have a limited use of SketchUp and could use all the help I can to use this program.
I have plaid with Sketch up in the past but would love to know how to really use it! This DVD could get me on my way!
Count me in
Wow! It's been a challenge today just to keep this comment box open. At any rate, I'd LOVE to try Sketchup, especially as I have been considering for some time now, starting my own woodworking business (currently, I work part-time for the big orange box store). I've been an amateur woodworker for many years and have made many projects, some leaning toward the carpentry side of woodworking, for many of my friends and neighbors. Sketchup would be a great addition to my arsenal of tools!
I've tried sketchup with limited sucess, for woodworking and I hope this will be the key to using it for woodworking, thanks, Bg
Throw me in to the hopper as well.
I just spent the day designing an aquarium stand for a friend. He has a 250 gal. aquarium that weighs over 2000 lbs. I used SU to work out some designs and solve some joinery problems.
Those of you who won't get the DVD, make sure you go the SU's website for some very useful tutorials. You can also find some good tutorials at woodgears.ca.
have used sketchup to make a 3d model of our house.
fun program! a natural for woodworking design.
Michael in Salt Lake City
I have bought a couple of instruction programs, but it's still Greek to me. Maybe aI could have better luck with a DVD. It wouldn't hurt to try.
Please include me in the drawing. I am about to embark on starting a class in teaching woodworkers SU. This might be a good tool to include in the teaching.
It may be time to give up the drawing board and t-square. Sketch up should help.
Thanks for the chance to win
I already have and enjoy the SketchUp guide by Tim Killen. An additional viewpoint is always welcome, however.
Sketchup for woodworkers would be an awesome tool for linking two passions, woodworking and computer aided design.
Could use tihis resource. I'd love having it
Perfect timing, as my wife wants me to make her a coffee table that doubles as a bench/foot rest. I really want to do this right for her rather than just banging a few boards together that would probably not last too long. I definately want to design this piece using sketchup.
Yes, Sketchup truly would be an asset to any woodworkers toolbox.
Would like to give Sketchup a try.
I can rally use this. I have been trying to use Sketchup but I am having problems. Also, I have never won anything since the draft lottery of 1968 when I was already in the service.
I would love to like to learn to use SketchUp
I would love knowing Sketchup. I've seen a lot of comments and it looks like a very useful tool.
Please enter me in the drawing. I've been using Sketchup for a couple of years with varying success so I could use a little help.
Any help with sketchup is welcome. Count me in.
I see that plans are being published using Sketchup more and more frequently. I think it's about time I got on board and I'm sure that the DVD would go a long way to making that happen.
I need this. Been fumbling around for months trying to figure it out.
Have been trying to get myself motivated to learn how to use this new tool and am hoping this will be the time to start. So please help me arrive into the 21st century when it comes to furniture and cabinet design.
I hope you cover how to print to scale from Sketch-Up.
Thanks,
E
Sketchup is very handy but difficult to master. I purchased the online version for woodworkers and added to my fund of knowledge. I think a simpler, easier referenced resource would be a great addition.
Been learning it slowly here and there and could use the DVD. Thanks.
I use SketchUp a lot in designing and planning projects. I'm guessing the book shows many shortcuts and easier ways of doing things than what I've taught myself. For me, it would be a vaulable and well-used resource; one I would appreciate time and time again!
Ooops...not book, but DVD!
I use a drafting table, AutoCad, and Roy Underhill's "measure never, cut once" methods. One reliable tool would be a big improvement
Need to get started on this...
Fantastic tool, yet it takes time to build a level of working proficiency (especially for more intricately detailed plans and designs). Definitely helps one better plan!
I could certainly use some help with Sketchup, I've only just started to get into it. Please enter me into the drawing for the DVD.
Leaving comment.
I may be an old geezer, but this Sketchup DVD would help me to design and build furniture to correct proportion.

from SU zero to SU guru would be easier if I had this to guide me.

Sketchup and I go back to before Google.
I tired to learn SketchUp on my own.
Needless t say I wasn't a very good student.
A DVD is a good idea. I find that I can actually learn something quicker from an instructional DVDs.
Thank you
I've tried to learn this on my own with no luck. I'm in.
I downloaded it this weekend. Seems good at first, but then as you navigate, pieces don't line up. Maybe the instructional video will save the day.

SketchUp is an indispensable tool. I use it daily!
Looks pretty neat. Would like to learn more.
Loved the sample. Now I need the whole thing!
I won a copy of Sketch Up back before Google bought them. Played with it some, but if I'd had a DVD like this I would have probably gotten more out of the application.
I've started on the SketchUp learning curve numerous times but end up spinning out. Help!
I have taken 1 class with Minnesota WWG and would like DVD to learn more. It still confuses me some.
I' love a copy of the DVD.
this is all you need

I'll take Sketchup on everything....yum!
This is a great video. But the designer makes one basic error that cost me 2 hours of problem-finding time. At the end of video 3, you'll see that the piece of the cabinet that is at the xyz origin is the corner of the sides -- not the outside edges of the base (the true most exterior dimensions of the cabinet). But then, when video 3 begins, the outside edges of the base are suddenly at the origin. I certainly didn't notice this at first, and simply continued on to video 3 with the cabinet I'd drawn in video 2. But this created a major problem: when I tried to draw parts (during video 3), I created misaligned pieces when clicking on a reference point on the cabinet drawn in video 2. Aggravating.
