MATT, I REAIZE YOUR POST IS A WHILE AGO BUT I JUST WATCHED IN NOW. QUESTION: I WAS UNDER THE IMPRESSION THAT WHEN USING A MORTISER MACHINE, ONE WAS SUPPOSE TO DRILL WITH WOOD BETWEEN THE HOLES SO THAT THE CHISEL WAS SUPPORT ON BITH SIDES REDUCING THE TENDENCY OF THE CHISEL TO "DRIFT" SIDEWISE. ????
Unfortunately the large knot in the footboard detracts from the this lovely bed. Couldn't another short piece of oak have been chosen for this part?
