it ends before he's done??
I thought that was weird too, he had a lot more marks and indexing cuts on his wheel too, more than the corner to corner 'X' and circle. Incomplete video, pretty useless.
Not to mention the stop piece and pencil holder
Agree with the comments above. This video is lacking quite a bit of detail to complete the project.
Ok, for those, like me, who watched the short video on making the index wheel and were disappointed in the lack of detail; go to number three “3” in the series and you will see the complete process.
Need to spend more video time on the techniques Mr. Lowe is using and less video time on his face. Also the redundancy of what the indexing wheel accomplishes would have allowed time to finish the video.
Just the first couple of seconds. Where is the rest?? Is this a Fine Woodworking tease?
Disappointing.....
Folks, that indexing wheel is about the simplest thing you could make, and when you see it in use you should be able to make one without the rest of the video (which I agree is missing given the title).
@BenStrano what I'd like to see is the flame finial drawing he referenced in the first video. I'm not enough of an artist to draw one of my own, but I saw no link to a pdf, and a Philip Low internet search didn't reveal it to me either.
The PDF is available on the main page for this project: https://www.finewoodworking.com/videoworkshop/2012/08/how-to-carve-a-flame-finial
