When our dearly departed managing editor, Mark Schofield, left us for greener pastures in Puerto Rico, FWW editor Asa Christiana knew just who to turn to fill the newly vacant position. Then-senior editor Tom McKenna had been with Fine Woodworking for some 15 years and was a natural fit. His consummate professionalism, coupled with a polished presentation that would even make the Queen proud, meant he had what it takes to keep Fine Woodworking’s various editors on-task.
But then I discovered this little gem (see video above). Well, well, well; it seems as though Mr McKenna has a humorous side to him. This recently unearthed, rare footage of Tom at work during a Fast Fix video shoot is proof positive that he’s not only a fine editor, but one who doesn’t take himself too seriously. Enjoy your new-found fame, Tom, and beware; I just might have a few more of your skeletons lurking in a dark closet somewhere in my office!
With that, I suppose I’ll pack my personal possessions, clear out my cubicle and head home. I’m not sure how long I’ll be able to survive in the web editorial department after having released this potentially scandalous footage!

Great way to make sure our video editors do not use the footage from our VoiceOver reads! Good idea, Tom!
I have a shiny head.
Congrats Tom. And great choice Asa.
