Always good to get tips on improving the shop
great articales and videos
Does the book come with extra shop space?
My garage is my work space so this book would be great to give me a few ideas on how to use the space more efficiently. If i didn't have to park a car and motorcycle in it i'd have more space to play with and wouldn't have to constantly move machinery around. HELP!!!! :-)
Organization? What's that?
I never win things like this, but my shop could use a win!
Any tips that I can get on organizing my shop would be a great help. Always looking for ideas. Really I could use a lot of help!
I will never have a shop like that.

this looks interesting. I am about to redesign my work shop.
Looks like a useful book. I could use some help in making my present shop more efficient.
love to have it, got a small shop, everything on wheels still not enough room
I would like to reveiw this book
I grew up sitting on the end of the bench watching my Dad fix stuff, only to realize years later, after I've been in the trades awhile, that he wasn't all that good at fixing stuff, but he sure loved doing it.
One Fathers day I gave hime a 6-1/2" worm drive skill saw and his face lit up like I had never seen it before. A gold bar from Fort Knox would've been a disappointment. He had a passion during his life and it still lives on in me.
I hope to pass this passion on to my grand children.
Most of my years in carpentry have utilized a mobile shop. I'm ready now to set up a more permanent shop to teach my grand kids and maybe others as well. I have my own ideas, but perhaps with this book will be able to enhance those ideas and more.
designing my shop now and this book would be a great help.
Love to get this book! It took me 5 years to build my workbench, I don't want it to take that long to finish getting the shop set up properly! Your help is appreciated!
Looks like a good book! I never have enough space in my shop.
I'm retiring at the end of this month and have outfitted my half of the garage with woodworking equipment. Now I need to organize it into a real working shop area so the book would really help. My biggest problem right now is that I keep starting projects and not organizing my shop. I guess I've been waiting too long for this time in my life!
Some of my best ideas for my home shop come from FW, keep it up!
Need to FINE tune my Wood Shop, would really like to get this book. Thank you
I would love to win this book.
The best way to design a new workshop or even just to add features is to see what others have done. Looks like a good book for that.
I am always game to learn more about how to set up my workshop! I have learned a lot from Fine Woodworking.
I have a small shop and could really use this book!
There is never enough room so a book full of tips would be handy.
I am setting up my shop (recently retired) and need more ideas. Fine Woodworking always has great ones. I would love a copy!
I am trying to set up a shop in just a bit less then half a double car garage. I'm always looking for space saving ideas. Avid reader of books and articles on this subject would be happy to review this book.
I retired a few years ago and decided to get into woodworking. I am setting up my workshop and I am finding space is at a premium. Any ideas and/or tips that I could use on setting up an efficient and effective workshop would be a blessing.
Space is always a major factor. No matter how big of a shop you have, it seems it's never quite big enough. A book with ideas would be very helpful.
I have been "setting-up" my shop since I took up woodworking as a hobby 4 years ago. Every time I create something I seem to need more room. An ongoing cycle that will never end. I constantly find tips and tricks from your magazine and emails that prompt me to do more....and I would not want it any other way.
thanks and keep it up.
Setting up my shop is my ongoing project. A book of ideas would help with the journey.
Agreed with Rob, my workshop is also in constant state of design changes/upgrades. Your tips are always helpful in making improvements to make me safer, more efficient = happier in my woodworking...
With a single garage stall I am very cramped for space.. It never gets dull trying to get everything to fit and still have room for work..
Looks like a much needed book for a lot of us woodworkers. Some of us are just starting and others of us are quite seasoned, but we all could use a little help in organizing our tools and dust.
With only a single garage and a good complement of stand alone machines, space is at a premium. I would love any help with improvement and this volume will be a great contribution.
Yes please, enter me for a chance to win this book. I look forward to reading it. Thanks
Looks like it could help me organize my small workshop.
Even with a good workshop, there is always nformation in Taunton's books such that almost any woodworker will learn ways to improve his or her shop.
Thanks for the giveaway. Please give it to me. If you are unable to do this, I will have to buy it. I would love to learn ways to cram still more into the limited space I have available.
I am building a 12 x 12 workshop. I know having this book will help when I get to organizing my shop. I hope I am the lucky one to win it.
I have been trying for years to organize my work area. I work out of one bay in our 3 car garage. I've installed partial walls, tried to organize and work on "dust" issues, but nothing seems to be quite right. Still a disaster out there. Most of the time it's easier to go buy a new tool than to try to find one out there. Sounds like I could really use this book!
I have been doing woodworking 40years, never have got shop organised correctly, this just be the book for me. John
I have been doing woodworking 40years, never have got shop organised correctly, this just be the book for me. John
I need some fresh ideas. No doubt this book will do just that!
I have been subscribing to fine woodworking for a while. I have been designing my new work shop as I am in progress of putting all my machines in place, I have found the ideas through Fine Woodworking to be an asset in designing the wood workshop to haveing it my way.
I think I could use some helpful ideas to make better use of space in a small shop.
You know you should spend a bunch of money on tools and set up a sweet workshop - said no wife ever!
I could use a book to help set up my workshop please!
I always enjoy looking at another woodworker's shop. There is always something new I learn even if its only the smallest detail. All those details eventually add up over the year. I feel like a kid in a candy store. Thank you all you other woodworkers for additions to my own shop!
I built my shop in 2 bays of a 3-car garage. All that space disappeared faster than the 220 outlets. I could definitely use some new ideas for layout.
Wow, I have been continually trying to figure out how to get more out of my workshop space for the last 2 years. I am always on the lookout for good or better yet, great ideas. I would love to have this book to help me finish my quest.
I have struggled in a 12x24 Basement shop for 4 years. I recently removed two critical obstacles (and 18X18"chimney on one side and a 4" Lally column dead in the center of the space) that have remarkably and completely transformed the shop space. I hope to finally establish the ideal layout once and for all. I hope this book could help me do just that!
I´m waiting for a new weekly video project to follow.
It is thrilling to follow and learn ...
I am on my forth garage (single bay, now). Always a renter, never an owner! Nothing can be permanent, I have a 52" cabinet saw with a 3'x5' torsion box assembly/outfeed table, a full-size bench and other full-size tools. Constantly tripping, constantly rearranging. Taunton, Take Me Away!
I'm always looking to organize better. Would love this book!
Another Hat in the ring...
Please enter me for the book giveaway.
Count me in!
That would be very handy just at the moment!
Yes, please. Looks like an interesting read.
Hey,,,,,,How come my shop is not on the cover? Huh? Because it's not worthy? Yet? Well maybe the book will earn it a spot on the next edition.
I love working in my shop and really get lost in the work. One drawback is that is in my basement. I would really like big windows to let in natural light. Easier access would be a plus too.
i need this
Not to brag or anything but my shop is as good as any here.

Right now all of my shop tools are portable due to lack of shop, Shop to be built soon but really thinking through before I build it.
I'm just starting this hobby... and want to have a reasonable and good workshop...
It wood be nice to lay out a more effecient floor plan-- tired of hopping over all the stuff stored in my garage. Maybe the Best Workshops can help!
Woodn't it be nice to decrease the clutter and re-organize my shop (taking up the garage space now)? Maybe "Best Workshops" can help devise a more efficeint lay out? Hope so!
Well after 25yrs of woodworking I finally built my shop, it's a 30x50 with a finishing room it sounds big but you can never be big enough! It is very efficient and able to have my Oneida dust collection set up on each machine which really keeps down the dust. But always looking for new ideas no matter how big or small they are. You never get to old to learn new tricks, right? Would really enjoy having this book and thanks for the opportunity to acquire it for free.
Hey, I never win anything and the book looks awesome! Let's kill two birds with one stone. What do you say?
Free books! w00t!
I'd love to get this book - it'll be helpful if it includes the best combination garage/workshops (where it has to share with the cars). Best yet, would be if I got a free separate workshop! Not holding my breath though. :)
Wow, looks like a great book!
Always good to get workshop ideas, although I still look for the article on how to construct a space expander; Not Enough Space is the biggest shop problem for me!
This book looks to have some great ideas.
Nice to have all these FWW articles in one place
I'd love to have this book. Always looking for ways to upgrade my shop.
My workshop could certainly do with some planning. Look forward to the book.
What a nice idea! I'm a new guy in woodworking, planning on what my workshop (will occupy 1/2 of our 2-car garage) will look like. Could sure use some ideas.
I could really use this. I am just about ready to build a new shop.
Im doing a shop remodel and upgrade and would love to have this book.
Hey, I could really use some good FWW ideas on organising my new shop.
That would be a great gift for my dad who is currently building his shop. I would probably read it first though!
Nice book!, sorry people I ' m feeling lucky...
It hasn't told me directly, but my shop wants this book!
I want a chance to win this awesome book!
Love to have all these helpful tips all in one book! I need a makeover.
Love to have all these helpful tips all in one book! I need a makeover.
FWW again demonstrates its claim to be the ultimate recycler. We happily pay them for material we have previously read in our FWW magazines, and which are available on the members' web site, for which we also pay. If you think you need this repackaged material right away get it from the library. If your need is not immediate, buy it used at Alibris. For charter or long-time subscribers this is equivalent to owning all of the Beatles album and then buying a CD of the Beatles' Greatest Hits from the Michael Jackson estate. (Jackson bought the rights years before his death.). If I win, it will be available at auction.
Pick me! My shop is pitiful and I need all the help I can get. My shop is so bad all my 45 degree cuts turn out 46.5 degrees.
Getting ready to move from a "ship in a bottle" shop configuration to something with more elbow room.... Looks like the book will have some ideas for the new place!
I am starting a shop in my Basement, I am just receiving an Inheritance From my father and I loved wood working when I was younger, I am a 100% service connected vet and would love to see some Ideas that would help me set up my shop right the first time. I have a lot of room so I would love to get this to make sure I cut down on the mistakes the first time. I plan on just using it for my retirement and to make some extra money. Pick me PLEASE
