Bosch’s OS50VC Half-Sheet Sander Includes Dust Collection

I used to hate the thought of sanding a big tabletop with a pad or belt sander—the noise and dust were off-putting to the extreme, and the vibration killed my hands.

Bosch’s OS50VC half-sheet sander dispels all the old stereotypes associated with big sanders. It’s lightweight, with a lack of vibration that is very kind to my hands. But what really knocks my hat in the creek is the dust collection; it’s nothing short of amazing, with the canister or hooked up to a vacuum. Plus you can use standard sandpaper; Bosch provides a punch plate to perforate the abrasive. Ergonomics are good, too, with easy-to-operate sandpaper clamps on the base, variable speed, and comfortable grips.

The Bosch has the oscillating action and finish quality of a random-orbit sander but almost double the sanding area. For big jobs, this sander is hard to beat.
