Advanced Stringing Techniques: Part II
Steve Latta's lesson on advanced stringing techniques continues in part two as he shows you how to make a complete circle and how to inlay plugs.Decorative stringing is just one of the details that make period furniture stand out from the crowd. The delicate, whimsical lines that adorn fine crafted furniture crafted date back to America’s infancy and have been copied by furniture makers ever since. With the right tools, and a bit of patience however, any intermediate-level furniture maker can tackle basic stringing.

This was absolutely fantastic! Thank you so much for putting these two stringing videos together.
I just kept saying "wow" while watching these videos. I'm ready to experiment! My wife has "ordered up" two end tables in sapele, and with some maple for stringing, I think I have a couple candidate projects already. Just better practice on scraps first.
Thank you for a very informative and concise video. Exactly what I was looking for.
This is a fantastic way to add decor to our work. In the first video I saw a box sitting to the side. I remember seeing this done on a PBS show one Saturday. I will start doing some practice work on scraps to get ready for adding it to a production piece. Thank you for these great videos, Steve.
Just a perfect series of videos!
I really enjoyed this one. I'll be looking for an application. Another source of fill material would be any luthier supply store. They have quite a variety of colors and materials. Thanks, Gary
