Woodpeckers Inc. - Woodpeckers PRP-4 Router Table
Solid-phenolic top, 27 in. wide by 43 in. longRouter Table has Big, Flat Top and Great Fence
In a head-to-head test of router tables (FWW #237), we missed the Woodpeckers Router Table PRP-4, so I recently put it through its paces. The first thing that stands out is the big, solid-phenolic top. It’s a monster at 27 in. wide by 43 in. long, which is big enough to support just about any furniture part you can make. It’s also dead flat. All of the other phenolic tops I tested dipped slightly.

The table has one of the best fences I’ve used. All of the adjustments are toolless, and the T-track on the fence’s top edge can adjust front to back to be flush with the fence faces, or removed to make room for a tall shopmade fence. The outfeed side of the fence can be offset for jointing and to support boards when shaping the full height of the edge (which makes the board narrower). The fence also has a well-designed dust port for excellent above-the-table collection.
A stout open stand supports the table and fence. Its height is adjustable, it comes equipped with casters, and its stretchers are lipped to support a shopmade shelf. All in all, this is a very good router table. But because it lacks below-table dust collection, I’d rank it just behind the General International with cast-iron top that I tested. The PRP-4 is sold as a package that includes the Woodpeckers PRL-V2 router lift, which I reviewed (“Router Lifts,” FWW #237).
