As a student at the College of the Redwoods Fine Woodworking program in the mid-1990s, Mark Edmundson noticed another student using a Kreg pocket hole jig to construct furniture mock-ups. He kept it hidden in his bench and never used it in view of any other teachers. Out of curiosity, one evening, Edmundson borrowed his fellow student’s jig and was impressed with how easy it was to use and how strong the joints tended to be. After finishing the Redwoods program, Edmundson used his own Kreg jig for a kitchen project and was hooked.
Following years of using a pocket hole jig in a variety of ways, Edmundson has chronicled a variety of techniques and projects using the jig in his lateest book, Pocket Hole Joinery. Eight unique projects are used to demonstrate how to use the jig to its maximum effect. You can download a free chapter of the new book by clicking on the link at left. The new book offers a wide array of projects–from a blanket chest and built-in bookcase, to a daybed, bathroom vanity, and more.
