Extend the Reach of Your Clamps
This simple wooden clamp extension allows you to make clamps of any length from the clamps you already have, and can really save you in a pinch. To make it, cut a piece of wood 3/4 in. thick by 2 in. wide to the length you need. Cut a cleat with a 5° bevel on one end to help center the clamping pressure. Glue the cleat to one end and drill a hole in the other end to fit the clamp head. The extensions work great up to any length—even 16 ft.
