We have a winner!
Queen Anne Furniture: History, design and construction by Norman Vandal is a comprehensive introduction to the popular furniture style. The book is divided into 5 sections. Chapter 1 covers the history and development of the style. Chapter 2 focuses on the cabriole leg and includes information on forming all types of cabriole legs – the single most important structural and design element of the period. The next 3 chapters describe individual pieces, with historical background, design and construction details. These chapters also include measured drawings and process photos to guide you during your build. Finally, an appendix provides helpful information about finishing and scaling from photographs.

This is good for a dream.... Love to win this book!
Thanks for the give away!
Love to win this book, read it once from a lending library a while back and thought it very interesting. Now to figure out how to change my email address to correct address so I can be notified when I win!
tried my hand at cabriole once with moderate success but would like to learn more, this tome would help!
Looks good to me!
Too good to miss out on!
Looks like an interesting read
For those interested in making American period furniture: find and get your hands on this book even if you do not win the drawing. It is the most comprehensive text on the matter that has been published to date.
I want this
I'm in for this. Are then any plans to re-release this either hard copy or electronically, in the very slight chance that I don't win this one,
I have wanted to try my hand at Queen Anne for a while. This book should give me the push to do it.
I'm just starting down the road of the Queen Anne style and have purchased several of your book on period furniture, covering details and shapes, as well as plans for the Queen Anne lowboy. This would be a welcome addition to my library.
This would be a really good one.
Perhaps a better name for "cabriole legs" would be a metaphor of "Queen Anne curve legs". Thank you for the chance, count me win!
I have recently repaired several Queen Anne pieces that were very old and did poorly when my mother-in law moved. It would be fun to read the style's history and try my hand at making some cabriole legs.
What a great way to learn.
I recently built a Queen Ann sofa table. Was a fun project the cabriole legs. This would be an interesting book.
Wow this is quite a find! Queen Anne style is among our favorite furniture styles and a favorite of mine to build. I'd love to have this text.
the articles, plans, and advice offered thru this magazine and this website are a phenomenal source of inspiration and direction. other than standing next to an expert, it is the best way i have found to learn...
What a great opportunity. Looks like a great book
I don't have anything in my library on Queen Anne. If I where to try a period piece it would be from this one. Possibly the most beautiful and perfectly proportioned. A book like this would be wonderful! I hope I'm the lucky one. Maybe if I sacrifice a chicken... Kidding
I've made several Queen Anne pieces and would love to have this book in my collection.
One of my favorite periods. Looks to be a very nice resource.
Queen Anne and Federal are the two best (in my opinion) periods in furniture. Looks like another quality production from Taunton Press.
The problem, of course, is that my wife will expect me to build some of these pieces for her.
My first attempt may turn out more like the Jester instead of the Queen but it should be fun to try.
Wow, nice book, i have been eye-balling Queen Anne furniture, but this might get me to actually build one.
Thanks.
This would be an awesome addition to my library!
Queen Anne is on of my favorite styles. I'd love to have a copy of this book.
The downside of building one correctly is finishing the set the spouse requests.
I love the Queen Anne style, it reminds me of some of my favorite pieces from my grand parent's houses. It would be great to have a guide in hand to build such beautiful, dare I say sensual (yep I dare), furniture.
There once was a monarch named Anne
Of the arts she was quite a fan
Blenheim built in her style

His discourteous wife Anne did ban
read this book in library a long time ago. would love to have my own copy. Matt
I'd love to add this book to my library.
Queen Anne furniture has such beauty and timeless appeal! Thanks for the giveaway to one of your lucky readers.
I will pay the postage to Aus. if it gets me in the draw.Cheers.
Send me the book and I'll send you a picture of my first Queen Anne project.
I've always been an admirer of the Queen Anne style furniture and would enjoy reading the book.
Would love to win this book. I have always loved QA furniture. Thanks.
What is the sincerest form of flattery?
Why not imitate the best period!
Would love the opportunity to learn more about Queen Anne furniture.
Understanding the style would be great
Queen Anne furniture is the top of design in my opinion, would love to get the book
Would really like this.
Would love to receive this book.
Have always considered Queen Anne style the ultimate expression of the feminine form in furniture, the equivalent of what a Jaguar E-type does for car design.
Great book!
Can I has???
This is a goto reference. Sorry i missed it earlier.
I would love to have this reference in my we library.
Saweet!
I have actually tried to fabricate parts of the design (cabriole legs and the stretchers) but cannot seem to get the proportions right. This is an excellent opportunity to find the information needed. I would be happy to help with postage to New Zealand if I were lucky enough to be awarded this beautiful book. Keep up the good work. Kind regards Bryan.
would love a copy...
I'm in, looks like a good one.
My next project will have cabriole legs. This would be a great way to get started.
Looks like a great reference. I'd be happy to snag it.
My Viking ancestors may have had some influence on Queen Anne's predecessors. Note how the graceful up-turned curved prowl on Viking ships compares to the graceful down-turn curves on cabriole legs!! This book would a nice addition to my well-used library. Cheers!
Looks like an interesting and informative read.
Would be the perfect belated Fathers Day present. Thanks for the giveaway.
Looks like a nice book. Almost like a coffee table book about coffee tables. (Sorry Jerry)
This looks like a very desirable book, do you have any further copies just in case I'm not successful? Cheers Keith.
Ps, Thanks for a great magazine ( This is a genuine comment win or lose )
This will be an excellent reference book!
Another learning opportunity from Fine Woodworking Thanks for all you do.
Looks like a good to have if you're into period work.
I've made a couple pieces with Cabriole legs and it was hard to get the curves right - both strong and graceful. A book illustrating the options and historical context would be great. Thanks for the opportunity to enter.
Another great resource.
Queen Anne is my favorite period. Maybe I'll be lucky.
This would supplement my book collection nicely.
Thanks for the contest.
I'm interested too.
Fine Woodworking!
Looks like a good reference and idea book
My turn!
Queen Anne style is so graceful.
